Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 826Dec 11, 2012 6:49 pm Bad News guys .... He said no unless we put our build on hold for the change to go through engineers check ... Hmmm nope ... I think I'd rather not ... New plan ... I'm getting a teddy cam in the activity room with a hendheld monitor so I can make sure our terror isn't being terrible lol ... GOOD NEWS ... Our brickies are "DEFINITELY" starting tomorrow AND APPARENTLY WORKING WEEKEND AND THROUGH THE XMAS BREAK UNTIL WE ARE FINISHED !!!! see how that works out ! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 828Dec 11, 2012 7:15 pm Haha yeah seems a little extreme but we have a pretty extreme kid lol ... Just got home and found TWO progress payment invoices for contract deposit and slab down ... Both telling me if I don't pay within 10 days of the work being done i will incite penalty interest of 18% .... What a JOKE !!! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 832Dec 11, 2012 7:58 pm haha you would think that but the letters actually say "We would like to advise you that the works on your new home is about to reach Contract Deposit/SLab Down and a progress claim of X amount has been enclosed. As per clause blah blah blah, payment is due within 10 working days of when works are completed. DW its just our builder Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 834Dec 11, 2012 8:43 pm Good work Mel. We have an activity room and decided not to put the peep windows in, thought it will be best not knowing what the kids are doing in there Lol You should tell them you will take the same time to pay it as it took for the brickies to start work!! Only fair Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 835Dec 11, 2012 8:56 pm yeah so behind its not funny - well your right it is funny when theyre saving us interest on our loan HAHA Smile we have a 2 year old that definitely needs monitoring - she walked out of my room the other day saying yummm - she had a nurofen liquid capsule in her mouth and had brought one for mum too at least shes a good sharer !! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 836Dec 11, 2012 11:21 pm Hi all,I actually rang our builder to advise that we had not received 1st progress payment (mainly because I thought that the brickies were woking intermittently due to non payment , even tho we hadn't received inv). More & more in life I find that one must do other people's work to get anything done & done properly. I had to ask the Man.Director the last time we built NOT to send the supervisor back for the super's sake and mine!! I may have had to embalm my first LIVE case.Lost 2 ceilings to water damage after I 'd told him for 3 months that flashing was missing between 1st & 2nd stories; sent balaustrade back 8 times for wrong size & poor finish,& the proverbial straw-- a100x150 steel beam thru centre of manhole!!!! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 839Dec 12, 2012 10:34 am Hi 77, In-vogue.Those were a very few issues- I presented 2 1/2 A4 pages of issus as I'd kept a journal of events--- as I'm doing now. However ,company name does'nt mean a great deal-- it's the monkey doin' the dance.Congrats melQ-your brickies will probably finish before ours at the rate they are going!! I may yet get my 1st LIVE case to embalm!!! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 840Dec 12, 2012 10:41 am Short day awesome and you can see the progress. Chevnut my best friend built with them and her husband (ex husband now) walked Into their office on Melb cup demanding to speak to the manager she said he is not there, he said you call him or call the cops choice is yours!! Shocking stuff they did. They were one of the first to build with them. Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond. We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 12644 1 5068 1 2878 |
