Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 8162Sep 23, 2013 12:09 pm Belle, wow, you gotta be happy with that. Colours look so fresh and contemporary. We were so close to using flokati, such a nice colour, esp. for larger houses 2 Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Porter Davis homes 8163Sep 23, 2013 12:25 pm I think the tiles on your walls, above the bath and the cabinets, are the same ones I want on my kitchen wall... upgrade price $72 isn't it? Re: Porter Davis homes 8164Sep 23, 2013 1:56 pm Belle - we tossed around with the chadwick idea too, came close, the master bed and wir with secret entry to strage under stairs was way cool, but marina won out in the end... Re: Porter Davis homes 8165Sep 23, 2013 3:02 pm my mistake it was the Heathcote not the chadwick - and love those grey tiles they look great! Re: Porter Davis homes 8167Sep 23, 2013 5:06 pm Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. Ally 007 - the splashback tile is MAXFL705 - Silk Olive. I think it looks great as a kitchen splashback think I remember seeing it in one of the PD displays in the kitchen. Joshcunno - the cabinets are Burnished Wood - Natural finish Getting very excited now. Garage door is on and tiles have now been grouted. Have been looking at furniture and keep having to remind myself to stay focused on the important stuff like concreting and fencing. Re: Porter Davis homes 8168Sep 23, 2013 5:54 pm We've got the same colour in bathrooms Belle! Thought I recognised it. Which benchtop colours? 2 Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Porter Davis homes 8169Sep 23, 2013 7:34 pm We must have similar tastes Meowsy! The benchtop is caesarstone osprey. Think the essastone equivalent is white chalk. See you used French nougat which I don't think is all that different apart from bigger fragments. Will be good to see your tile with the burnished wood so be sure to post a pic. Re: Porter Davis homes 8170Sep 23, 2013 7:49 pm Belle, looking fabulous, it is so exciting to see all the colours come together. Re: Porter Davis homes 8171Sep 24, 2013 10:38 am Hi Bella We selected flokati too. Love the splashback tile. Looking fabulous. Re: Porter Davis homes 8172Sep 24, 2013 10:41 am MummaDJ Just had to share this picture - LOVE our new splashback! PS: obviously lights need to be fitted now under the cupboards. Good luck with the PCI. Re: Porter Davis homes 8173Sep 24, 2013 11:23 am Team PD Lurgen I'm currently dealing with post-handover hassles that have me grumpy.... Hi Lurgen, The Building Manager has been made aware of this matter. He will be in touch ASAP. Cheers, Helen Thanks Helen - the Building Manager called yesterday afternoon and while we can't do much about it this week (key people are on leave) he has promised to sort it all out next week. Porter Davis is an odd organisation - there are some absolutely wonderful people with amazing customer service skills who really seem to want customers to love their homes, yet I keep finding myself in these situations. Maybe I'm just really unlucky. Re: Porter Davis homes 8174Sep 24, 2013 11:28 am Hi tinker, just wondered how your window issue was going? did it get resolved for you? Re: Porter Davis homes 8175Sep 24, 2013 11:47 am Back Pocket tinker MummaDJ Looking fabulous tinker, it all seems to have happened quickly. Our bi-fold took a little while to get put in also. It is always great seeing the stairs go in, rather than a ladder! Did you sort the window issue yet? Not yet mummaDj . We are suppose to meet the construction manager tomorrow. Wondering if anyone has problems with similar windows not in the same hieght or only one window having an infil above the window. Below is the white infill that was put initially. Now they have replaced it with aluminum infills that match the window. We want all 3 windows to be the same height and bricks above it. Would appreciate if anyone has any information regarding this. We are suppose to meet the construction manager tomorrow. Hi Tinker, I have been following you pretty closely as you are the only other Hoffman I know that is getting built. I am concerned at the window too. Can you please tell me which window it is, it is hard to tell from the picture. We changed most of our windows to be the same size, so I hope that this doesn't happen to us too. Will be waiting for an update. Good luck! Hi back pocket check and compare the windows start from the same height in frame stage as it can be adjusted easily I guess. We did check things seemed good. Was told by II they adjust it a bit accordingly when the brick work starts. According to the manager who came on site to see Apparently displays have infills as well. But we didn't change the height of the laundry door or a custom size. just to a Win21 (which is an option offered) instead of the sliding door. That will have a timber infill. That will have a We did change sizes of Windows. I guess if the window doesn't fit exactly to size of the brick there is an infill to bring it to the next brick level. how are we suppose to know this. We aren't experts. We have to pickup so many mistakes in the drawings and documents. Even then it's not possible to pick something like this from the plan. We have told the manager that we will see how everything looks and if we aren't satisfied will not be finalizing anything as he didn't have any useful suggestions. Other than what our SS had done. He said he is happy with how it looks. should they be happy or the customers. I wasn't there would have told him its great he is happy as he is the one who is forking out the $$$ not us. my DH had told him we have to be happy not him. It's a shame as things had been going well. Hope things are progressing well for u guys too. Pls Post pic Re: Porter Davis homes 8176Sep 24, 2013 11:54 am Back Pocket Hi tinker, just wondered how your window issue was going? did it get resolved for you? Hi back pocket. Just responded to your previous post . I'll post a picture with the the aluminum infill. Haven't got a chance to take one yet. No the building manager didn't have anything useful to add except displays have it. Standard is the timber infill. But they will put the aluminum. At least it's the same colour as the window. We have not had a chance to see the windows as the bricking has started yesterday and the windows were still not in last night. I am not sure how you are supposed to know if it is a brick height or not? they are the professionals who we are paying to do a professional job not me. If I could do it, I wouldn't get them to do it!! Because we are the first in the estate to build our site has security cameras and we cannot go there outside of 6am to 5pm or security will be called. PD don't want stuff to be stolen, which is fine but which means we cannot go in and check things like this. We will be very vocal if there are issues because we cannot check, which makes it totally their responsibility in my book! Will get a picture through the fence tonight and post. We have out tile appointment this Thursday Re: Porter Davis homes 8179Sep 24, 2013 3:35 pm Can anyone that has fitted a HX (high efficiency) two zone Brivis heating unit by PD let me know the range of your gas bills. We use our heating unit only in the evening but received bill in the range of $650-700... Had a look at our bill and the meter reading was 461 units for 58 days. is this normal...or do we have to make some setting changes. Re: Porter Davis homes 8180Sep 24, 2013 3:45 pm Hi Ally My partner is the one good with numbers! lol. Not sure how to work out the actual upgrade price. Had a look at the quote and it looks like we were charged $20.23 per 300mm x 600mm tile. Hope that helps. Good luck with your tile appointment!
