Browse Forums Building A New House Re: williams landing 802Mar 20, 2010 9:58 pm we bought a re-sale block and paid substantially more for it. it was sold through RPM. Maybe they tell you that to discourage people holding on to it and selling it at a profit? Tornado, which road are you on? I'm wondering if I'm one of the neighbours you're referring too. We're hoping that building will commence in April. jje - how is it different? Re: williams landing 803Mar 21, 2010 4:20 am In our contract it makes it out to have alot of plants looking at them they dont have as much impact as what I was expecting, in relation to your block at the rate things are going you will have alot of equity in no time. Re: williams landing 805Mar 21, 2010 12:21 pm i need an opinion from you guys. i chose to build the victory 1800 with Burbank, its now over a year since the time. I then added some variations, like the family room and alfresco, double garage and en suite. the total cost of the house now, on the contract, including the council costs etc is about 166000. i was just looking at other houses from burbank and found that i can get a house with an original plan, eg i am looking at the Ascent 2500, base cost 158000, if i put my council costs etc it comes to around 180000. what i am just wondering about is; -will Burbank allow this change since we have signed the contracts? -will we sign a new contract or we modify the existing one? -and what is the implication on the FHOG? i will probably call Burbank about it but what does everyone has to say? You just might have to endure a delay but if you arent eager to build yet and at the end of the day you are going to live in the house for many years to come so get one you ae happy with otherwise you wont be happy ..Thats what i think. Pepto471, I tink you should check wif SRO..I'm informed that the house plan is part of the building contract..by signing the building contract, you agreed that that is the house plan you wanted to build..not sure you need to sign a new building contract if house plan has change... Re: williams landing 808Mar 22, 2010 9:26 pm Kaytee unisol2003 Kaytee If you are meaning the release behind your back fence it is the metro 1 release. This is great, all the nearby neighbours are here... BTW when are the blocks in Metro 1 release getting settled? Supposedly in April sometime. I would imagine later in the month by the work that still needs to be done. I'm being told that only 100 lands will be settled in April and then others in July..I recieved call from WL asking me whether I can delay my land to be settled in July..to which I refused.. They wanted to delay some till July. I also said no. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. I am having issues with Carlisle Homes their quality and attention to detail is disappointing and they struggle to meet basic code on aspects of my build. BTW I can't stress enough the need to hire your own building inspector. It may come in handy for the rear landscaping - maybe it dropped from the sky as a gift. Noticed too that some people are still helping themselves to our water... If anyone knows about this pile of dirt i would be interested inknowing how and why it got onto our block. Who knows i may be thanking them.. XERO Bookkeeper BAS Agent.
