Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 81May 04, 2016 12:56 pm Charibear - You will have your contract appointment and signing with Micah who owns the office here. He is a nice guy. We told about 1.5-2 hours. Mel gave me the contracts a week before so I could read it all, send in any questions etc I have and changes I wanted so when we went into the meeting we were both on the same page. Townsville - You can make changes, we have but anything structural you want to not do once it goes to council, otherwise you need new plans then resubmit to council and adds months onto your build. We have done changes like add a CSD to the WIR, extra lights and power to front of driveway. We also changed our bathroom counter tops. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 82May 04, 2016 4:48 pm Shellby - Yes Micah came down while we were Kylie to fix our quote as he had fix something in the back end... With being sent the contract early did you need the allocated time of 1.5-2 hours? Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 83May 04, 2016 7:42 pm Yep we can make changes but if they start to get ridiculous in like request upon request upon request it will either be denied or charged a heap and have the build time extended as they lose control of the build and they need to make sure that they can provide a quality home. I'm hoping maybe I can sneak a few changes in with cash jobs for the CSD on linen and WIR but all good if we can't. - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 84May 04, 2016 8:20 pm Townsville - You can make changes, we have but anything structural you want to not do once it goes to council, otherwise you need new plans then resubmit to council and adds months onto your build. Knowing our children it will be a health hazzard and due to out layout the first thing people see when they come in! Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 85May 04, 2016 9:48 pm Lol yep know that one! We put a CSD to shut off the 'kids wing' i.e. Bed 2&3, bath, activity room and toilet. We have two girls aged 3 yrs apart so it will get to the point where they both want sleep overs (doesn't help their birthdays are two weeks apart exactly) and this way we can shut them off from the rest of the house lol - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 86May 11, 2016 7:15 am Oh my. So we've been oogling colours and textures. Driving around the neighborhoods to look at external colours. I'm putting together a mood board of different options. We have tentatively booked our colour appointment for next Tuesday Eeeek! I'm hoping we can move our daughters appointment to the morning to allow more time in colours. I don't want to be rushed. Also, our SC called me last night. She has had some other clients in the same development as us email her to say their solicitors have received notification that registration will be June. I think this means we should finally own the land next month!!! I think lol - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 88May 11, 2016 7:47 pm All 4 pegs done so we can get our contours ordered. Then X fingers for no more $. A credit back would be even better lol - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 89May 11, 2016 8:07 pm That's is awesome new about the registration being June! A credit back would be nice Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 91May 11, 2016 9:37 pm Hahaha me too Dee! Our soil and contours are being ordered tomorrow. There's one 'bad' thing about Joe having access to the development. We now have to go past out block if we want to take a shortcut to daycare/school and work. Lol. How annoying is that going to be when we look at a house that's nearly done. - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 92May 12, 2016 6:38 am That would kill me, driving past my almost house all the time but in saying that... I will only get out to my block on weekends so I will miss the bulk of things just rock up each weekend and look frames oh look walls haha at least you'll see it being built in action Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 93May 12, 2016 2:42 pm How exciting My block is 100m from my ILs and we are over there nearly every second day so always an excuse to check out the house even if I have looked earlier that day as my MIL takes care of my youngest when I do my other day jobs. Its cool though seeing them doing stuff, and go chance to stop and check everything out as I found you need to. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 94May 16, 2016 1:19 pm Have you received the contours and soil reports? Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 95May 16, 2016 4:42 pm oh my word. I've been so busy the last week or so that i've hardly had time to come and read up on everyones builds and post about where we are at. We haven't received the soils and contours yet but i'll ask them tomorrow at our COLOURS APPOINTMENT!!! EEEEEK I feel so unprepared its not funny. Saturday i raced into the brick supplier and grabbed a sample of each of the bricks we liked in the brochure. We've now come down to a few colour schemes we like. Dark (greyish) brick - light roof, light mortar, grey window frames, light garage door, stained front door, stained front pillar. Dark brick - grey roof, light mortar, grey windows, grey garage doors, stained front door, stained front pillar. Light brick - dark roof, white windows, dark garage door, stained front door, stained front pillar. Light brick - light roof, white windows, white garage door, stained front door, stained front pillar. And the various combinations of those. Then inside will depend on what we choose outside. We were originally going for a beachy relaxed feel to the home. We aren't show home people but at the same time we want it fresh, very modern and want it to last a fair while before being obviously dated. We are loving the very modern kitchens and bathrooms and want it to have a point of difference without blowing the budget. HAHA if that can even happen?! lol I'll post up some of the mood boards i've been working on. I want to put a few more together and i'll post them. - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 96May 16, 2016 10:03 pm Soooo excited for you for tomorrow! Don't stress....I bet you're more prepared than you realise...it'll all work out. Take your time and clutch those mood boards! Which btw I'm patiently waiting to see! Lol Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 97May 17, 2016 6:37 am Hahaha ah yes I fell asleep I am about to make a nespresso and finish them off so we can take them with us. We also have our youngest daughters initial appointment. We've been advised she has strong indicators for autism so her appointment is first up today and then drop her back to preschool and then back into town to do colours. Not at all busy haha - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 98May 17, 2016 6:50 am Good luck today Kym!! Can't wait to see your selections!! I know they'll be gorgeous as we have the same taste hehe. Good luck with your daughters apt!
