I love the raised ceilings in the kitchen area. Heaven boys!! Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 84Oct 22, 2013 7:52 am Woo hoo! Looks grand. Love the alfresco bit. Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 85Oct 22, 2013 9:16 am Very excited, we stood their looking at it for about an hour and taking about 100 pics The slab was a good feeling but the frame is amazing. Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 87Oct 22, 2013 9:24 am Yep, the frame makes it start to look like a home. Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 88Oct 22, 2013 9:43 am Looks great guys Must have been so exciting to actually walk through all the rooms The vaulted ceiling is looking great looking forward to seeing all the windows in Siteworks 8/11 Slabbed 19/11 Our Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65703 Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 89Oct 22, 2013 2:14 pm OH MY GOD!!! We drove past yesterday and the workers where still their so we parked around the corner and watched them (felt like stalkers lol) work for a few mins, they are doing an amazing job and so fast as well. Then came back a few hours later for some pics, that was about another hour just looking at it and thinking not long now till we live their. Now that the frame is up our house really dwarfs the house next door, our roof is so high and the porch is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 91Oct 22, 2013 2:34 pm Well I think it looks amazing... (not being biased either!) Good to hear that they are working quickly and are doing a good job as well I've heard 12-14 week build times are going on with Simonds??? So yeah, it should be no time at all How exciting for you guys Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 93Oct 22, 2013 2:51 pm deluxes Well I think it looks amazing... So yeah, it should be no time at all How exciting for you guys Thanks deluxes, yeah we have heard the same build time and Simonds keep saying they can get us in before Xmas, if not its still ok but if they do that would be sweet. Cant wait to see your slab and frame pics coming soon and I love your selections, wish we had taken pics of everything we chose as well. Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 94Oct 22, 2013 3:06 pm I mainly took pics because we have such a long wait for land settlement, I was afraid i'd forget what we'd picked by the time the build came around! There was so much to chose from and so many roads we could've gone down that we loved as far as colours & choices, it was hard to pick just one "theme". I loved how you modelled your picks on those in the display home, which (lets face it) is just a gorgeous example, looks amazing and the whole reason we both are building the Sierra in the fist place! I think you've picked beautifully also and it's going to be so nice to see your personal touches on another Sierra! Also we added a sliding glass door from our garage to the alfresco, so when we entertain we can open it up and use the garage for more space Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 96Oct 23, 2013 8:41 am Oh you are too sweet, thankyou! We have close friends at Munno Para West, family in Salisbury etc and And are quite often out that way, so I’ll maybe drop you a message one time and we can tee something up then? Same goes for Mt Barker, if you are ever up that way – you are most welcome to visit us and have a look. Mind you, you’ll have your own by then and it’ll be old news! Haha No we didn’t Hubby only wanted the single door (crazy man!) but we heightened our internal doors to 2340mm as a bit of a feature because we raised the ceilings to 2700mm, so hopefully that will suffice. I love that you guys did, I think the doubles look great. What a great idea! That slider in the garage will be great… unfortunately our garage will be full of cars & various other motorised cr@p and we would want to shield the world from looking at it! But if you can use it as an extra entertaining space… that’s really cool and the slider will make that so much more accessible. We did go the sliding doors, like the display pushed together in the Lounge & dining room though. Oh and we took the one from the ensuite, changed that to a window and used it on Bedroom 4 instead. Oh and we deleted the big one off the family room and changed that to a window of similar size. Thats very confusing, I really need to post plans…. All you South Australians seem to have had wonderful experiences and staff who have helped you with all the options. Lol Yeah let us know, we would love to show you what you will be getting soon and we would love to see your home as your colours are so different from ours it would be good to see. Its ok I understand so besides the door on bedroom 4 do you have another door to the back yard or will you just use the doors to the alfresco to access it? I guess since your not build on the fence line like us that will work fine. We fell in love with the double doors to the master room, made it feel like something special was behind them and the ones to the hall we thought would be good to shut of the rest of the house. Tell him he is crazy lol So you went the HUGE sliding door like on the display? we are very jealous..... We would have loved to have it but after all our upgrades couldn't afford it We also swapped the ensuite slider to a window like you, thought a slider to that room was a lil strange Re: Building the Simonds Sierra in SA 99Oct 23, 2013 2:32 pm mjmelb Can I just say, Simonds in Adelaide seem much more throrough than those in Melbourne. i'm a tad jealous. All you South Australians seem to have had wonderful experiences and staff who have helped you with all the options. Really that's no good, so far the Adelaide team have been nothing but amazing. Trish in selections was a huge help, we had a bit of trouble picturing our ideas in colours and she got it just the way we wanted. Even though we haven't met Prue yet she has been great and has answered all our questions. Hayden is AMAZING, you can email him at any time any day and he will get right back to you and knows everything about Simonds so can help with any questions. Even when we ran in to a bit of trouble with the encumbrances for our front windows, he went out of his way to get it the way we wanted. I can not recommend them enough. I second this… We initially spoke to and sat down with about 6 builders before we signed with Simonds, we cant even compare the experience. We thought we were set on this custom plan we’d had drawn up, when one day randomly wandered through a display village on the other side of town to where we live and hadn’t visited before. We came across Haydn, had a chat, found him so personable, helpful and really genuine. We then walked through the houses, saw the Sierra and went – Ok wow. Went back in spoke to Haydn and the rest is history… We initially asked him (before seeing the houses) if they did custom plans, because we just enjoyed his helpful nature and we hadn’t even seen a Simonds house yet! So we were so glad we loved the Sierra. Anyway, Trish is lovely and our rep is Belinda and she came in to say hi when we were doing our selections and she was so nice. As for everyone else there they have gone out of their way to keep us informed of everything and explain what’s happening… I never have to phone them to check on anything, it’s just done. I have heard some horrid stories about interstate, which sucks.. but the SA team are just wonderful and I feel so comfortable dealing with them all.
