Once you have the fibre optic installed in your area then you won't be getting adsl2+, because there will be no more copper wiring, just the optic fibre which will deliver your VOIP phone system, NBN Internet, IPTV and other exciting services but mobile wireless broadband will still work if you prefer. Thanks mrxhn. I bought in stage 12 and it will be registered around sept this year. So will be a bit disappointed if I do not get it. Secondly, as the exchange is in Minto and distance from the exchange will be less than 1.5 Kms, speeds for ADSL 2+ won't be slow either. I checked my contract earlier and it said, NBN ready. But cannot comment if Govt. backs out. So fingers crossed . Which builder you used? Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 83Jan 28, 2014 3:22 pm We used Wisdom Homes, we build the Columbus 26, I created a blog if you want to see and to give you an idea on the building experience. http://columbus26dreamhome.blogspot.com.au Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 84Jan 28, 2014 3:42 pm mrxhn We used Wisdom Homes, we build the Columbus 26, I created a blog if you want to see and to give you an idea on the building experience. http://columbus26dreamhome.blogspot.com.au Your house looks great. Glad you have moved in and pretty happy Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 85Jan 28, 2014 6:30 pm Thanks for the compliments, I wish you and your family all the best on your building journey at One Minto Estate and can assure you that you made the right choice and won't regret building here especially stage 12 is a prime land area and much closer to everything. Its a wise choice! Its a wise choice! Thanks. Lot will not be that levelled, but it is walkable to the station ( over a km), Minto Marketplace and medical centre. For schools, I don't know if Minto's schools are good enough. Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 87Jan 31, 2014 10:34 am For those who purchased in Stage 10a release, registration has been pushed back to April (Rachel confirmed this morning). Disappointing to find out about the delay, but it is what it is! I agree with some comments on here about public vs private neighbours. Unfortunately those who truly depend on public housing (and are decent people) have been tarnished with the same brush as those who do not appreciate and respect the public housing system they depend on. Similarly, those who are private owners could be really nice or absolutely horrible... you just don't know. Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 88Jan 31, 2014 10:43 am When was stage 10 proposed to be delivered? Stage 12 is around sept. 2014. Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 89Jan 31, 2014 12:05 pm We were told March 2014 when we put down the $300 deposit. This may impact Stage 12. Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 90Jan 31, 2014 12:26 pm Hmm. So that is around 1 month late. When do you contact your bank for the loan? Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 91Jan 31, 2014 1:56 pm We got pre-approval before purchasing. Full approval a few weeks ago, and just submitted forms today (that was before we found out about the delay, so not sure what effect that will have on approval period vs settlement date) Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 92Jan 31, 2014 3:03 pm Yes. Thats what I was thinking. Contacting bank in July and then get the approval. Normally it is for 3 months so might contact them nnow a bit thinking stage 12 will be delayed as well. Surprised as rawsons earlier told me that landcom was going ahead of the schedule work for most of the stages. Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 93Feb 05, 2014 8:52 pm Hello all. We've also decided to build at One Minto and think that the area and what we get is a good value for money. We are building with Rawson Homes. Btw, we've been advised by RH that the land registration is delayed one month from March to April (stage 10). Thus, I think the next releases may be affected as well. Can't wait to move in . So the whole process will be delayed by one month. Have your purchased in stage 10b? and when did you singn the contract with Rawson? Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 95Feb 06, 2014 11:59 am JandJ_OneMinto Gaggy Thanks JandJ_OneMinto. We have not gone to a lot of builders yet. Rawson is the one one where we discussed extensively with the executive. Others were Lilly homes and Vesta homes. But had lot of badi stories about them, so will stick to a good builder until their prices are out of budget. Our land is not that big (390 sq m) and we are on a tight budget. Wisdom homes initially sounded a but expensive when I visited them few months back. Though I will check them again and see what I can get. Other than the total cost of Land and builder cost, do we have any other expense? (Other than landscape and interiors) Cheers G. Hey Gaggy, Have never heard of Vesta Homes, but Lily Homes were on our shortlist also. Wisdom are a little more expensive, but like I said - you get what you pay for. In regards to other costs, it will depend on what Rawson's inclusions are at the time of you signing your tender. On top of landscaping, fencing, letter box, clothes line, you could also be up for blinds, flyscreens, TV antenna, etc. Also, ask builders for an "options price list" when you walk through their display homes. It will give you a good indication of what is standard and what is an extra. You can also ask the Salesperson to give you a walkthrough. hi i just built with vesta homes at elizabeth hills and they are doing a great job at it. i went to other builders but their prices were much more expensive than vesta homes. a friend of mine sent me to them as he had built with them also and he was very happy with the outcome. so after seeing their work i was happy to go in and see what they were all about and sure enough they have not let me down. what attracted me the most to them was that their price and the quality of their work was pretty good. so maybe even go to their office im sure you will be happy as i was with their work and service. Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 96Feb 06, 2014 10:22 pm Hi Gaggy, We've got a lot in stage 10 (not sure whether it's a or b) last month. There were 9 house and land packages provided by Rawson Homes and we got the last one available. The contracts have been signed today ! Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 97Feb 12, 2014 10:04 am For those who are looking to build at One Minto, new stage 13 is on sale from this saturday. Rush today to get the priority no. http://www.landcom.com.au/downloads/fil ... esPlan.pdf Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 98Feb 12, 2014 7:18 pm The land prices seem to be going up in the new release. Curious how long it'd take to sell all of those... http://www.landcom.com.au/downloads/fil ... ceList.pdf Re: Anyone Building at One Minto? 99Feb 12, 2014 7:57 pm Based on previous releases, it won't take long at all. Rawson are pretty good builders and have good reviews online. I will see if they will be in budget when our land is registered in Sep 2014 or oct 2014. ( as the stage 10 was delayed one month, I think ours will be delayed as well.) Let us know how your experience was with them.
