Looks great so far - good luck with the build getting back on track with the start of the new year!

390sqm - same size block as ours but looks like dales have modified the elwood pretty well to accomodate that battleaxe situation. Ours luckily is 390sqm but as a 13 x 30 so we're a bit luckier in that front

Yeah was tricky for sure, the kitchen is straight out of the Elwood but it was more a "feel" of it that we wanted but it is an original design for the block so not as spacious as the Elwood unfortunately but perfect for our life stage atm.

Glad it's the new year, won't be long until they get back to work hopefully and get everything moving along again after all the delays.

Got an email today from our CLO advising that they will have a relief site manager until ours returns with gutters and tubes booked for this week and then roof cover is not far away. Realised I haven't actually been to the block in a month so will make sure to go tomorrow and check it all out, hopefully in for a nice surprise.

Also extra bonus, we didn't specify where to put the light switch for our pantry on our electrical plan so they are giving us a free sensor light (worth $237) - must be the first thing we've gotten for free so far so pretty happy with that :z:

No variation fee from DAH? Just means they got you somewhere else. No way an infrared sensor light plus fitting costs $237. $237 is about a 150% markup.

I don't really mind what it actually costs seeing that I'm not paying for it

So went on the weekend and the electrics and plumbing look mostly done so now we wait for roof cover. Looks like the smart wiring guys came in and did their thing too, so they must've done a bit of work over the break after all.

Good news! The next 4 weeks or so I think are the most exciting (roof, walls etc)! Enjoy seeing your house come to life!

Aww thanks, I'm starting to get excited again, wish they would give us some kind of a completion date to work towards though, it's hard to plan anything.

Colorbond is on which is awesome and we received our invoice for roof cover which was not so awesome but it's all progress so pretty happy overall.

Not sure what happens from here, guessing from reading other people's threads it will be ceilings and grey float next or maybe doors and windows?

You should have grey float and external render before the windows and doors go in (it can get really messy otherwise). It depends on the scheduling of your trades as to whether you'll get ceilings before or after white set and whether you'll get white set before or after lock-up.

For me, this was the most exciting stage. Especially once white set was done, that's the biggest transformation. You can start to get a real feel for the spaces you'll eventually have. Your walls are going to start looking like actual walls. Enjoy!!

Ah of course, that makes sense. I think our ss gets back from leave soon so hopefully we'll get updates of what's going to happen. Mean time I can live vicariously through everyone else's threads

What about grano, would that get poured now or after the render?

We got grey float, windows, plaster then doors. Nah grano happened for us later on

Yep it is dawnyc, after all the delays and everything it's hard to get my head around the fact everything is going well.

We got grano a little later too. We had piles of render sand, brick rubble etc. that had to be moved before they could get in and make the garage floor all smooth and even. Plus, I think they had to move some excess sand. In the end we had a minor delay because the bobcat guy was held-up elsewhere. Once you've got a bobcat, you'll get grano!

Then you'll get paranoid about someone touching it while it dries… :wink:
