I love your house and your facade and flooring. Maybe its your anxious subconscious because your so close now. Once you've moved in and settled I'm sure you'll love it all. Must be exciting to be so close. I can't wait to be at your stage! Do you have any idea of total build time yet?

thanks Hannah, it will be 19 weeks and 1 day from the 1st day they cut our block to the day we hopefully get our keys.
Our PCI date is may 14th and we should get our keys May 21st.

We have reached lock up! Exactly 6 weeks since site scrape. There are still a few things to be done on the outside but they will come in the final stage I think.

Here's how it looks now with some wet bricks still

And I have been told that next week has the following in store:

Mon & Tue - fix
Weds - kitchen and bathroom cabinet installation
Thurs - pre paint
Fri - painter starts

Thanks Lucinda! We really love it. Spotted it quite early and kept going back to it. Very reasonably priced from Focus on Furniture.

Thank you! I work just 10 minutes away. I never used to have a break so its a good excuse to get away from work and its exciting to see the tradies working away

It really is so exciting! I'm sat at work and I can't concentrate! There's a big sale at spotlight on blinds, if anyone's looking for a cheaper alternative than the guys that make them to order and fit them for you. I love daydreaming about how it will all look and that moment that you get the keys. Not long for you now Taylor22! Anyone else nearly there?

We've just found out that there will be a double storey built next door to us

it's the only one in the street. Why next to us?!

Aww, I'm so sorry. I expect we will have doubles on both sides--and at the back and across the road. The blocks are so tiny there's not much room for a family home even when the maximum footprint is applied. But our singles will be our havens.

Oh no! I feel bad for complaining now! Our blocks are very small too, just 420m2 so I'm surprised there aren't more doubles. I should be grateful for that.

On the up side, today we bought 2 bar stools for our kitchen island bench and a gorgeous rug!

These are our bar stools. The colour doesn't show up too well but they've got a kind of blue/white/grey wash colour on them. Will look great in our beachy coloured house!

The colour on that stool is amazing. Beautiful wash, and will look divine in a beach-inspired theme. Great choice. Our block is only 300m2--originally we'd picked a block of just 270m2 but when we found out we couldn't have front fences I panicked and forced my husband into spending more on the land so that my little dog would have a slightly bigger back yard. This expenditure makes him our most expensive dog ever. :lol:
