These things need a door to contain the sound no door to close of hallways to minor bedrooms from the living area Re: Whats your Biggest hate in New building plans 82Jan 03, 2013 6:29 pm This is going just the way I thought it would. . . I love it when someone says that they hate something that someone else has! Gold! I'm not a big fan of open plan. I like to be able to close off areas so I can get an area cooler or hotter quicker, without having to heat the whole house. Re: Whats your Biggest hate in New building plans 84Jan 03, 2013 7:09 pm Well, after googling that!! I guess both are as bad as each other. 1. upper deck v. The leaving of fecal matter in the tank of ones toilet, turning the water brown. Primarily done as revenge or a drunken practical joke, but sometimes in an emergency when the bowl is clogged. Although I think the kilt wearing , just pips it at the post. Re: Whats your Biggest hate in New building plans 86Jan 03, 2013 7:12 pm Yes, I'm inclined to be dropping the ' saint' from his log in name. I love it when someone says that they hate something that someone else has! Gold!. Hee. I think the only uncontroversial statement was the one about lack of storage. Although I don't recall anyone saying they thought floorplans paid too much attention to privacy either. I did think of another one. Bedrooms with door/window/wardrobe such that it severely constrains furniture placement. Oh, and bathrooms with nowhere to put a dirty laundry hamper and a bath or shower with no convenient towel-rail location. Oh, and I will not comment on poo. Toddlers in toilet training makes poo far too common a conversation topic in my life. ![]() Land settled May '14. I have an ensuite with nowhere to put a towel rail. . . I'm insulted! Or is that . . . I wish I'd thought of it when we designed it that way! Arghhh! Everything's 5.5m x 5.5m these days, yet more & more people are getting around in 4WD's. Park the Prado in the garage next to the Commodore and climb out through the tailgate because there's no room to open the door! And you had to leave the garage-door open 'cos there ain't any space behind or in front of the car once it's parked. Woebetide anyone with a bike or a toolbox ... ... oh, and 'poop' (felt a bit left-out).
