can't wait to see it all come together! Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Megzy New Home - Update 8.1.10 82Mar 11, 2009 9:03 am Crissy82 Wow only a few days hey !! Must be weird though - everything at the beginning goes up so quickly, within weeks - and then its months and months of inside stuff and finishing ! Its amazing to think that soon we will have a frame, then roof & bricks, then it will feel like ages before we can get in !! lol Very weird. We were only saying the other day that it doesnt feel real yet. We were out there thinking this is nice but I think it wont really sink in until handover. Then the freak out begins Re: Megzy New Home - Update 8.1.10 83Mar 11, 2009 9:06 am Crissy82 Hey guess what ! I just had a call from our replacement site supervisor (as ours had an accident a month ago & needs to have surgery) - and we have the same one !!! How cool is that ! Whats he like ?? hahha Yay! SS is great. Funny you say that. Im at Sfield Lakes atm and we have a MCon house being built near us and nothing has happened for some time there. They probably had the same SS as your x. We are meant to be meeting with him in the morning, but have to wait and see on finance today being D-Day ! Good luck! Its raining again today, so don't think much will be happening hey on your block or mine ! Oh well. I will still make my visit. It makes me happy to see it anyway even if nothing is happening Re: Megzy New Home - Update 8.1.10 84Mar 11, 2009 9:12 am Glad to hear about SS.
Perhaps there is a delay with the Springfield Lakes house from the owners side ?? I guess you just never know. See we've already had stuff happen on the block, so I wonder who has been looking after that, whether its yours or our old SS ?? Oh well, as long as it goes up nice & quick its all good!!! It might not be raining at your block - it doesn't rain out there as much as it does say in our area - we always find that its raining at my house, but not mums. So perhaps there will be some progress! Nevertheless, can't wait to find out!! Re: Megzy New Home - Update 8.1.10 86Mar 11, 2009 6:33 pm No update to report on. GOt an update from our SS today. They hoped roofing was done by today. He knew that the roofers were there but did not know how far they got. Not very far at all. Nothing that I could notice. I did spot our tin though. Great news that the colourbond has arrived.

Yesterday afternoon went for a visit. Saw the plumber was still there. Didnt want to get in his way so I took a few photos and was on my way. SS rung with his weekly update. 2 calls in 2 weeks. Love it. Independant inspection of the frame will be done next week. Then MCon will have their quality assurance team inspect it. Re: Megzy New Home - Update 8.1.10 96Mar 20, 2009 3:43 pm Very interested to see how everything is turning out for you, I too am considering a Metric home.
As a carpenter myself, I know personally, I never had any problems with the owners coming on site. I know it can be a little intimidating but you will find the MAJORITY of trades people to be very friendly and helpful. With some small alterations, maybe consider a carton of beer to the trade involved and they might make that small change without any fuss. Depends on the people involved. If you run out of money at the end and have no driveway, get a load of 'blue metal' and spread it on your driveway, this will help eliminate the red dirt trouble. Good luck, I will be watching with interest. Another thing to consider is to get some of the tradies Numbers and get them to come back after the house is finished to do things like the driveway, retaining walls etc. you might save some money! Where my extended family is from, Rocky, it is some how cheaper up there for colourbond. We paid close to $5000 for the colourbond on a 33 sq home incl a wirly bird and vents etc. For flat tiles the quote come back around $3000 so definately made the decision to go with colourbond. No regrets now after seeing it.
