So Thursday. It was depending on them finishing another place first. So hopefully weather doesn't delay that job for them and they can get onto my place quickly. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 786Dec 10, 2012 5:00 pm I doubt they will. Builder goes on a break from the 21st. Think they implied that they will be get 50% of the bricks done before they go on break and then 10 days after coming back they will finish the brickwork Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 787Dec 10, 2012 5:29 pm I'm just exhausted ... I just want to give up on this build again gave myself a tour of your place on Saturday daed... Very nice ... Actually loving the layout !!! And kicking ourselves that we don't have that bug games room lol .... Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 788Dec 10, 2012 5:36 pm mel it will get better i promise - just hang in there!!!!!!!! thanks - yeah we are quite happy with how the place is turning out in reality, much easier to visualize it now. i just wish we could have had high ceilings trhoughout! So angry at myself that we didn't get that ... Were actually thinking of getting it done after handover.. which is such a pain ... Yeah were glad we got high ceilings ... Except in the theatre we got 31c ceilings and -4c sunken floor ... Soo that is going to be a very Tall room lol ... Didn't even realise when we were getting it drawn up .... It's pretty upsetting going there and never seeing any progress ... I sent a really angry email today ... Thought it would make me feel better but it hasn't ... And still no reply .... Daedalus I'm not sure if I've asked before but how much was your contract price and how much did you do at prestart ? Sorry if its a bit personal ... Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 790Dec 10, 2012 6:33 pm For some reason I kept imagining that we had a sunken floor for the theatre, but we don't. Your build will get there soon Mel. Just think, you slab is having a little more time to cure and cure well. I have read a few horror stories of slabs not being down long enough when they start to put the bricks up. Our slab was down for a little over 4 weeks before the bricks started. I want a pool, but can't fit one in our small back yard. Does anyone know what is happening with the other stages and their titles? Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 791Dec 10, 2012 6:51 pm Thanks for all the support guys ... I'll just have to keep checking on your houses !! Lol I honestly don't really get the whole sunken floor thing but hubby HAD TI HAVE IT !! LOL. He also wants a pool our backyard is tiny but we've seen a few small pools that are nice ... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is a bad pic ... But its a very small pool its a concrete pool I think ..at one of the displays in alkimos ... Not really the type of pool you'd have a pool party in but its an option :p Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 792Dec 10, 2012 9:41 pm MelQ hope the brickies start soon for you. Have they sent the invoice for you for your slab? We were told out slab will be down 7-10 days, it will be a week tomorrow. We have our soak wells delivered but not in yet. Not sure if we will see much before the Christmas break. I can not wait to see what the house turns out like. Hope our vision works out. We were there in Saturday trying to work out how big/ small out back yard will be, so hard to work out. That looks like a nice idea of a pool, as long as you can cool down it will do the job. Road rage are you renting far away from the block? Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 793Dec 10, 2012 11:56 pm Exactly what we were thinking with the pool as long as you can sit in it to cool off that all you need ... I'm not some Olympic swimmer lol ... We were there tonight still no brick work but we do have all our door frames ... If it rains tomorrow I will cry ... . .. We met the couple across and to the left from us ... Can't remember lot # :s but Great people were going to have a great little neighbourhood smile I think we may have driven past you on Saturday ... We have the Mitsubishi SUV that's dressed as a reindeer lol so sorry we didn't say hi I was a little more than pi$$ed off as our bricks were meant to start Friday ....So was having my usual moan !! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 794Dec 11, 2012 9:48 am Hey Mel you should really try to speak to mark about getting the openings in the activity wall - it is much easier to do now and probably cheaper. after handover it will cause a mess.. no idea whats happening with the other stages - we had some stage 4ers here earlier but they havent said anything yet. we drove past last night - our brickies made some progress our front is about halfway done now. i think the brickies actually ran out of internal brick and sand because we have had a delivery of a pile of sand and more bricks, perhaps this was slowing them down earlier? I drive along Lord to get to work. Today very few workers out there. Only guys on my block and the one across the road. Dargonk I saw you have the big wooden frames on your site and it looked like window frames we also there. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 796Dec 11, 2012 10:56 am Hey Roadrage - when do you think you will be in your house by? both our neighbours have had their slabs marked ready for brickies to start once bricks are delivered - the neighbour to our left however only had their slab poured on Friday so I doubt they are going to start this week.
