Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 763Oct 16, 2012 11:27 am Are we supposed to send the 90-day maintenance via mail? Do they not allow for it to be sent via e-mail or Fax? Banj Interesting feedback r.e. the 90 days thing... Seems like sending it registered post is the way to go for peace of mind Concerto w/ Ivy Facade Sep 12 Paid $3500 Oct 12 Revised Tender Nov 12 Final Plan Jan 13 Signed Contract May 13 Construction Start Jul 13 Slab Frame Aug 13 Roof Sep 13 Lockup Oct 13 PCI Nov 13 Keys Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 764Oct 16, 2012 1:36 pm I've done it via email with another builder, but when I followed up they claimed not to have received the email. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 766Oct 16, 2012 2:52 pm Vatche Does M's SS provide you with any project timeline, even a basic one, showing what follows what and estimated duration of each stage? Bit more detailed than progress payment schedule! We got nothing. We're completely blind to how long each element should take. But then, perhaps our home isn't a good example? I hope it isn't typical... Brickies coming back tomorrow apparently, after nearly 8 weeks. *sigh* Trying to keep positive... Hey Vatche, Keeping in touch with the SS on a regular basis (weekly) helps alot as mine always gives rough timings. My blog also has detailed updates so that should help. Goodluck! My blog also has detailed updates so that should help. Goodluck! Thanks for that. I will be visiting my fav blogs from this thread and collect the data. Any bit helps. I suspect I will have 2 timelines. Single and Double story. I will collect data from standard builds and not complicated high-slop and split-level homes, as they will affect the data result. The site is now clear and ready for Masterton to take over. A surveyor should attend the site and do the final survey peg-out, hoping this week. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 771Oct 16, 2012 3:37 pm Well done Vatche. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 774Oct 16, 2012 6:03 pm Hi everyone long time no update work has been full on Firstly congratulations everyone and a big woot woot to vatche Update with us Ground floor roof trusses done and windows delivered last Friday. They will be installed today and the first half of our bricks will be delivered this Friday. SS has advised we won't see any work done after that as there is a 8 day delay on brickies. We have a walk through booked in next Monday as we saw a problem with the frame in the alfresco. Both stacker doors are supposed to butt up at right angles so when you open them there is no support in the middle and clearly there is a timber beam in the middle holding up the frame. Let you know how we go. We are building the Masterton Symphony. We are about to sign off colours and we have been advised that we need to let them know if we are having them install the flooring ($450 to come back and do the skirting) or doing it post handover. We have a quote Accent for Bamboo which seems comparable to another local company but we haven't made our minds up yet. Just wondering if everyone else had their flooring organised at the time of doing colours and if you went through Masterton? Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 776Oct 16, 2012 8:39 pm dsa39 - Is the timber beam just a temporary support beam maybe? Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 777Oct 16, 2012 9:06 pm Good thinking PS_Sirocco but alas no the supports are normal timber propped up and this one is part of the frame and termite resistant (sighs). Just checked our tender and it def states how the doors should be. Assuming this will cause some pain and delays. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46741 Clovelly - Masterton Homes 5% to M 290312 CDC 21/06 20 days 29/08 Slab 17/09 Frame 26/09 Bricks 24/10 Roof tiles 20/11 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 778Oct 16, 2012 9:08 pm Bonnie30 Hi everyone, I have been watching this thread with great interest. Hey Bonnie, we are having all our flooring done as we dont want the headache afterwards. If your cost is comparable then go ahead I say, ours was a bit more but we thought it was worth it as we had a mixture of carpet timber and tiles and would have been too much of a headache to do afterwards viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46741 Clovelly - Masterton Homes 5% to M 290312 CDC 21/06 20 days 29/08 Slab 17/09 Frame 26/09 Bricks 24/10 Roof tiles 20/11 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 779Oct 17, 2012 7:04 am DSA - Our back stacker door had a beam on an angle from the alfresco to the door open, once our stack door was installed it disappeared, so dont fear that its permanent, they use the offcuts of the timber used on the build for other purposes... A funny one I haven't mentioned yet on our build... on the plan, our staircase has a walk-in area with a door... but so far, there is just a wall there, with noggins and all. I'm going to mention it just before gyprock (which is a long ways off mind you), if they don't pick it up prior.
