To my knowledge you can fit a full width door with no sidelight. That is what we will be doing when we finally start construction. That is what we will be doing when we finally start construction. actually door entry is different depending on the door size you are after. most are built for 2.04m, so if you upgrade your door, frame size need to be adjusted to suit door size. i have seen mine get adjusted as they did wrong the first time Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 708Nov 27, 2010 6:01 pm I was referring to the width of the entry being the same no matter which facade. Meaning the width from brick to brick. The standard entry has a door and one sidelight. JohnC was asking if you can have a wider door with no sidelight to which I was saying you can. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 710Nov 27, 2010 6:35 pm I think thats the new black these days isn't it? Wider pivot entry door. Hey MP. I saw your kitchen window in your pics. Was that a Surfmist Aluminium Servery window? We're getting the same if it is. Wish it came with the servery ledge and roll down screen like the timber one but we'll just add them after. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 711Nov 27, 2010 6:55 pm hi infocus yes it is, the new black , we fell in love the moment we saw it at metricon display. yes surmist alumnium window. yes we wish it was larger and has roll down screen and like you, we will probably just add them after. how is your plan going along? which stage you are up to at the moment mp Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 712Nov 27, 2010 7:03 pm We saw a larger aluminium servery window at Parklea. The Waterside has one that is flush with the benchtop. The Caesarstone continues out to the alfreso and acts as the ledge. Very nice. We are at council lodgement stage. Signed the deposit tender 3 weeks ago. Should be going to developer in about another 2-3 weeks, then council. Still amending the plans as we speak. I listed some extra variations at the deposit appointment to which some they did, some they didn't and some they did incorrectly. Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 714Nov 27, 2010 8:05 pm No we didn't. Actually I have seen some house frames wrapped in a green tarp like material. That must be what you are talking about. I had never really seen it before. I assume it is a type of insulation.? I am surprised you haven't added it seeing you have insulated everywhere possible For all your joinery needs, we custom build kitchens, office, wardrobes, garage, laundry fit outs plus TV units, pantry, linen and everything in between. I am surprised you haven't added it seeing you have insulated everywhere possible yeah, we thought we cover everything and only when build the house then we realised, we should have added them its too late now. there is a lot of benefit having it but more importantly preventing your frame from getting in contact with water. mp Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 716Nov 29, 2010 7:04 pm Hey guys. Regarding the ceiling fans and lights to the alfresco, do C allow the switches to be on the external wall, under the alfresco itself? Or do they have to be inside near the back door? Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 717Dec 02, 2010 2:38 pm infocus Hey guys. Regarding the ceiling fans and lights to the alfresco, do C allow the switches to be on the external wall, under the alfresco itself? Or do they have to be inside near the back door? Thanks Hi Infocus, our light switch for the alfresco is on the internal wall, near the kitchen. Im not sure if C will let you put the switch externally. Mel Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 718Dec 02, 2010 7:21 pm Thanks Mel I assumed they had to be indoors but thought I'd ask. Hows your build going? Any new pics? Re: Building the Waterfall by Clarendon in Sydney 720Dec 02, 2010 7:48 pm Hey MP. Nice stairs. I assume you are keeping it as timber stairs, no carpet. I like the doors. Do you mind, how much did they charge for the upgrade.? We want something like that. At the moment we have upgraded to colonial doors but want to change it something a little more modern. We actually widened that square set opening next to the stairs. Just up to the third step so first 2 steps can wrap around. It is Genneral stairs, but they won't deal with anyone off the street. They will only work with clients of project home builders.
