Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 704Feb 10, 2010 9:41 am Hello again Well we have our contract signing on Monday next week so we're pretty excited that it will finally be started very shortly. In anticipation of the start date (they've promised us feb/march) I have started our homebuilding blog for the rellos interstate, and also for our own bragging purposes of course. http://tajmahouse.blogspot.com/ Enjoy! Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 705Feb 10, 2010 6:24 pm wooohoooo... just received the Construction drawing from Carlisle.. was really surprised as I only got the finance approved late last week.. our supervisor didn't even bothered sending us an email saying that they received the letter from the bank and they are sending the documents... now a lot of reading and checking and comparing to do again... any tips on what I should look out for ? especially common mistakes that they make.. thanks. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 708Feb 10, 2010 8:06 pm All the builders provide Structural Warranty. Cant find anything on Structural Warranty on Carlisle Homes website/ in Contract Documents Eg: One builder has something like this on their website “Your architecturally designed property is built by Victoria's leading residential builder and is backed with a 25-year structural warranty.” Do Carlisle Homes offer Structural Warranty? Where can I see the same? Also, builders have post handover maintenance (where they fix all the issues identified) 3 months or 12 months Cant see any mention of such in the contract documentation. Best part is we goto the gym every second day so visiting the block isn't a chore. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 716Feb 15, 2010 2:50 pm I had contract appointment today with hubby and sussed out the structural warranty. It is 7 years from the start date - so basically, if it's double storey, like mine is, it will be around 6.5 years from the time we're in. Hope this helps. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 717Feb 15, 2010 4:12 pm Hey All, New to the Forum! But have been reading for a while. Hubby and I paid our deposit today and have another meeting with Phil in Point Cook on Wednesday! We're building the Atlantique 36 which we originally saw a year ago but wanted to do the "safe" thing and look around only to find the base price of the house go up $10K! (Although the specials package they have now well and truly compensates for the increase in price imo!) So our land hasn't settled yet, it's delayed, and we're trying to push the start date as far back as possible (at this stage it's August 2010) as we are trying to get our unit ready for sale! (Excited as the WIP in the Atlantique is bigger than my current kitchen!!!) Phil has mentioned that even though we already purchased our land seperately, Carlisle can package it up as a House and Land Package easier for finance with the bank apparently... has anyone done this recently? I'm just worried that we may get ripped off on the site costs if they just "guesstimate" them based on other sites in the area... any suggestions? Thanks to all for your blogs and tips... one thing that I was sure to do was NOT get the refridg air through Carlisle, however we got them to pre-wire and fit bigger ducting in for us to fit our own unit in later! (please if there are any other hints that you guys have keep posting them... first time builders and I'm scared!!!) Thanks Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 718Feb 15, 2010 4:21 pm We got our house and land packaged up by Carlsle for peace of mind it was great. You may end up paying slightly more but you never know what is in the ground under your block - depending what price they come back to with it maybe worth it. Where abouts are you building? Our fixed price in Alamanda was $11k Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 719Feb 15, 2010 5:18 pm Zerosignal Getting pretty excited now these next few months will go so fast! Best part is we goto the gym every second day so visiting the block isn't a chore. Hi Zero, I sometimes go down in my lunch breaks. Often visit after work and play tennis as well.. Thinking that I might also make some visits to the house and make use of the gym... Building Monaco32 with Carlisle Homes in Alamanda Estate 20/08/2010 - HANDOVER 24/8!!
