Yes!! ~K~ Re: Grange Avenue Schofields - Burawa Rise Development 691Feb 22, 2016 6:16 pm ![]() Developement so far: 20th nov - land registered 5th dec - official name transfers 3rd feb - construction phase procedural start 12th feb - peg out survey (yellow marks) ~K~ Thank you Blueeyes, my land will settle on 11th of March, then I need to wait for the DA...hopefully 2 to 3 weeks Re: Grange Avenue Schofields - Burawa Rise Development 692Feb 23, 2016 4:04 pm Congratulations to all of you who have had their lands registered. With the changing contour of the land and combined with the flood mitigation system in the Schofields area, I'm interested to see if anyone has looked into getting proper flood insurance for their house in Burawa Rise. Did you find any difficulties in getting the insurance? How much does it cost now? etc. The flooding precinct layers on the local council map http://maps.blacktown.nsw.gov.au/ still looks the same. Re: Grange Avenue Schofields - Burawa Rise Development 695Feb 23, 2016 8:50 pm We have discussed this insurance bit on this forum before...we are not affected. ~K~ Re: Grange Avenue Schofields - Burawa Rise Development 696Feb 23, 2016 9:30 pm ![]() For that information you have to wait until we built Mate... As we can't buy insurance for Land. Never said anything about insuring land component mate. If you go online with your newly registered address you can get a quote from insurance companies by entering information about your proposed build. Of course this will be a rough estimate but at least you can get an idea. Let's not be in denial about living in a flood zone. Even if you are not directly affected, there could be some flow on effect with the amount of premiums you have to pay. Re: Grange Avenue Schofields - Burawa Rise Development 698Feb 23, 2016 11:52 pm With regard to "Interestingly, bridge that connects railway terrace and bridge street doesn't exists on this map. Not sure if they have any plans to take this off in future. Thought I will share with you all". In 2008 Stage 2 of the duplication of the rail line to Vineyard includes the bridge being rebuilt (to accommodate two rail lines). The 2010 SEPP makes reference to the bridge being removed and not replaced after the Schofields Road underpass is completed. More recently RMS have commenced planning to put in traffic lights for the bridge and are planning the extension of the road through to join West Parade (with a dogleg to join onto Denmark Road). The RMS representative (Suresh) has indicated that RMS overturned the decision to remove the bridge. It may be that the Council plan offered is based on the 2010 SEPP.
