Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6602Oct 01, 2015 12:52 pm Hi Everyone, Just wondering if other people have the similar experience with CLE or not. We feel it is quite hard to contact our CLE. 90% of our calls to her went to her voice mail. If we were lucky, we got her call back next day. Most of time we heard from her 2or 3 days later. We left her a message last week and haven’t heard from her yet this time. We keep telling yourself being more patient. I can understand she might be very busy but is this normal? Will we need to contact CLE during construction? If so, I hope our queries can be attended more timely. Thanks Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6603Oct 01, 2015 1:13 pm Hi, anyone know the answer to this question? Thanks! Maybe try emailing her? I cannot say her reply is prompt as she normally replies after 2 or 3 days but the positive part is she did help. I guess CH is just too busy at the moment. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6607Oct 04, 2015 9:13 pm Hi Everyone, Does anyone know if it is really necessary to upgrade to include roof sarking? The consultant in Spectra tried to explain to us it makes a huge difference to save energy. However, it is quite expensive. struggling to make a decision on this one...anyone can give some advice? Many thanks. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6608Oct 04, 2015 9:28 pm Mellily Hi Everyone, Does anyone know if it is really necessary to upgrade to include roof sarking? We decided not to have it and re-invest it back into double glazing window. As for the roof, we were planning add extra insulation post PCI. I think we will have to leave it so it is just too much for us right now. Do you mind me asking you how much you spend on the electrical upgrade? I just calculated mine tonight and it is around 15K Are we too crazy? We have not even upgraded the batten lights in the bedrooms and WIRs. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6610Oct 05, 2015 12:01 pm Hi Mellily, I dont think 15K is too crazy; our electrical came back at 11k inlcuding the Opticomm connection (5 data/voice/foxtel points, 27 extra batten and a couple of extra power point). Because we're building a double storey house, most of the upgrade was for the ground level only as it would be too hard to upgrade later. Top floor is standard as per Carlisle, you can alway add extra power point and lighting later. Our sales guy said to leave the down lights till after handover as it's too expensive through them. Re the sarking can save you about 30% (i can get you the exact figure if you want) of your energy bills. I'd definitely invest in it. nicnbam.blogspot.com Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6612Oct 05, 2015 2:44 pm Re the sarking can save you about 30% (i can get you the exact figure if you want) of your energy bills. We should give it a second thought then. Yes, the LEDs are SO SO SO expensive. I just want to upgrade the living area and bathrooms to LEDs as it looks nicer in my opinion. Do you know if it is easy to add LEDs on Ground Floor ceiling in a double storey house? PS you got a nice sales Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6613Oct 05, 2015 2:55 pm Mellily Re the sarking can save you about 30% (i can get you the exact figure if you want) of your energy bills. Oh with 2 story I think you have to get them at build stage. Not sure. But yep, they are so expensive! Our sales guy was good nicnbam.blogspot.com Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6614Oct 05, 2015 3:03 pm We will have our tender appointment soon. Can anyone kindly share some tips of the tender day? Did your guys all sign the tender documents on the same day? Did you feel rushed? We felt our colour select day was rushed although we thought we were well prepared. We guess our Tender will be intense too as all questions we asked after colour selection were pushed to the tender day. CLE kept saying to us ‘confirm at tender’. We also asked our CLE if she can send the price list earlier so we can review it beforehand. The answer is no. How did your guys go with your tender day? Many thanks Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6615Oct 05, 2015 3:25 pm Mellily Re the sarking can save you about 30% (i can get you the exact figure if you want) of your energy bills. She will also point out a disclaimer that they cant guarantee that the light will be in a straight line etc. I havent got to the build stage yet, but some H1 members also point out that you must double check that the builder dont put the light near rafter/struts during the build stage, which can cause problem down the track. Thanks Hi Mellily , consider yourself lucky , I have send emails to my CLE every week during last 3 weeks to follow up some of my query - No response at all ! My concern is whether this has become a standard practice of CH or just me be unlucky. Carlisle's customer charter state "Respond to you within 1 working day of all inquiry" - Or this statement is outdated now ? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6618Oct 06, 2015 10:04 am B_Bear Quick question. Has anyone opted for the pillarless alfresco doors? I know it's available in the Affinity range, but don'y know about the T-range. We're building the Hansen 29. I know it's an expensive option but it looks so good - has massive visual impact to inside and creates so much more space. Was anyone able to get this option in a T-range home? Thanks! Edit: Don't actually know what the option is called, or what to refer to it as. But I'm sure you all know what I mean... Pictured below Hi Bear This is called Corner Entertainment Door , not sure T range , but in A range , this cost around 5K for upgrade (2340mm high) Wish it helps Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6619Oct 06, 2015 10:08 am Scott2233 Hi Bear This is called Corner Entertainment Door , not sure T range , but in A range , this cost around 5K for upgrade (2340mm high) Wish it helps Thankyou Scott. I'm still waiting to hear back from them to see if it's possible in the T-Range. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6620Oct 06, 2015 11:00 am I have had problems with the CLE communications as well. Looks like it is becoming a trend with CH or maybe it is the one CLE that is slack. Maybe it is time for a product review post as they only seem to pay attention to the reviews there. 0 5266 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6643 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14720 |
