I can't believe the number of people casually walking into our backyard since we've moved in. Especially since we only had blinds installed yesterday, it was such invasion of privacy. He was quite stressed up about trying to make it smooth but now we're quite happy with the end result.. some imperfections here and there if you look up close but doesn't really bother me Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 665Aug 02, 2017 9:45 pm It's been ages since my last update. Thought I'd post some photos of our new backyard for anyone who's interested to see what's been happening. We finally decided to get the landscaping done 4 months after moving in These are photos from last week. Watering the new lawn for 30 mins everyday is driving me crazy at the moment. Pestering hubby to install the sprinkler system asap. Otherwise I'm quite excited about starting to grow some veggies. Landscaping is costing us a bomb not sure how long we're going to take to recover from this. Retaining wall (bottom) and piers will be rendered in surfmist. Hubby will be installing the aluminium slats in monument colour. We're flattening the front yard so our fence will be about 2m from the ground, hopefully it's not going to look ridiculously high. That's some excellent progress on the out doors! Back yard looks beautiful! I think that's next on my todo list, get some turf! JLH, we're still loving it. Thankfully no major issues so far, except our front door spring latch has gotten a bit tight and stiff and the door won't shut unless I use my fingers to push the latch in. Apart from that one light in our outdoors has decided to stop working. Hubby says there will be a 6-month maintenance coming up with M in September so we're listing everything down for them to fix. Thanks Renman, I can imagine those sprinkler will be a lifesaver Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 670Aug 03, 2017 11:45 am Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 671Aug 03, 2017 12:17 pm Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 672Aug 03, 2017 12:34 pm Nice! You know I really wanted the built in letterbox but I didn't realise it until they've done the piers and it's now too late unless I insist on knocking them down and doing the top blocks again. We'll now have to settle with a wall mounted one. Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 673Aug 03, 2017 1:10 pm That's definitely going to look fab! can't wait to see it. Well as long as they haven't core filled the blocks, it shouldn't be too much effort to retrofit in the letter box.
