Why give more time while we lose more and more money. It's obvious what's happening here this is a typical example of a failure in the system. Where is the protection of the people. Face to face meeting with the slickest salesmen in Perth. This is going to be one long rough ride people. If you would like to be pro active about this please inbox me I've had enough I'm about to break. I agree in terms of a face2face meeting of that is simply what the BC do. Hopefully the BC go through their books and see the high average build time. I for one am getting past 15 months since slab down. I don't have to point out just how absurd that is. Yes we have spoken with a solicitor, and have been given two options. we are waiting another two weeks to see which way we go. We have options??? Are one of those options to terminate?? Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 669Apr 08, 2015 11:18 am There are a couple people that have suggested it but not sure if anyone has gone ahead... How do you all feel about accurent affair?? If one person goes forward and the others all back it up? Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 670Apr 08, 2015 11:53 am Breezah3 There are a couple people that have suggested it but not sure if anyone has gone ahead... How do you all feel about accurent affair?? If one person goes forward and the others all back it up? I didn't want to go this route, because ultimately I wanted my house built as fast as possible. Saying this, these were my thoughts 6 months ago with about 4 weeks left of work to do (if there were no excuses or 'delays'). I would seriously consider this now but I think it has to be done smartly... You always have options. One was to terminate but you have to think this through as the costs involved aren't cheap and means finding another builder to take it on. its all about timing and when to action your next part of how you plan to tackle this situation. I looked at terminating and seriously considered it. But even with all the troubles with free life, it'd be far too costly for me! Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 673Apr 08, 2015 12:59 pm I am the same I didn't not want to go to A Current Affair or anything 6 months ago as I really wanted to do the right thing and in hope have my home built but no luck and I don't think they really care for their clients either way. Yep - if they cared for their clients there would be more communication, they would stick by their word and they would probably seriously consider selling up so homes are finished. Instead - we are kept in the dark and li3d to. Thanks very much to the directors letter a year ago apologizing for delays and promising things would return to normal in 4 weeks time. I'm a bit worried what their normal is... Seriously going crazy. Need some mental health bills paid for I think... Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 675Apr 08, 2015 1:28 pm Guys I would be very wary of terminating, at this point terminating the contract would do more for freelife in letting them off the hook than it would for you. If you haven't already I would call the BC and/or HIA and seek info on how you might make a claim for compensation if you are outside the contract period i.e. for rent or similar during the extended period. (note: as some of you may have already discovered the calculation of when you are beyond the 220 days can be tricky as there are a whole lot of days exempt from being counted e.g. weekends, public holidays, rain days, inclement weather etc.) I would also contact QBE and find out if you might have any claim for conpensation of expenses in relation to terminating should you go down that route. I would be hesitant to terminate mainly because you may be giving up any rights you have to an insurance claim should freelife be declared insolvent or similar in the coming days. Call it a gut feeling, but I think we are really close to hearing something in the form of a formal announcement from freelife. My interpretation of the BC's email about their correspondence with freelife was that freelife intend to make their intentions public sooner rather than later and therefore putting the BC on ice till that happens. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 676Apr 08, 2015 3:41 pm I hope your gut feeling is better than mine! I've had the gut feeling since around Christmas... Yet it's somehow still going on!:( (And around June last year was the gut feeling that id chosen the wrong company!) WHY WAS THERE NO BAD REVIEWS OR FEEDBACK WHEN I SIGNED BACK IN 2013 Apparently they were actually completing homes back then. If you believe it. Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 679Apr 08, 2015 6:37 pm One more thing that someone just brought up. What happens if they didn't pay their premium? Does the land just get sold from under us?? We would still owe the money and won't own anything?? Is anyone clued on to what happens in that situation? Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 680Apr 08, 2015 6:41 pm Obviously everyone's situation is different but typically you've bought the land yourself, it's already in your name and as long as you pay the mortgage it's yours. Freelife paying their insurance premiums doesn't mean a thing to you, the insolvency insurance is a one-time fee paid per project, if you have a certificate (which you should have been supplied prior to commencement of the build) you're covered. There is no ongoing premium for Freelife to ignore. (Indemnity insurance is a different matter but, not having that hurts Freelife not you as the owner I believe.) So you should be covered should they go under, that's not something anyone should have to be worrying about. Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 25849 I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home.
