We did some work as a contractor for the director himself as well as Capital Works/Freelife before Christmas and in January.
I am sorry to hear about these issues on the client side of things.
And did they pay within terms?

Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 623Apr 02, 2015 12:49 pm Does anyone know if there display home in Golden Bay was ever finished? The display village plan has it in a different colour so assuming that means under construction, although not sure how current that is - http://www.goldenbay.com.au/GoldenBay/m ... lan_A4.pdf Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 624Apr 02, 2015 1:36 pm I just went onto Realestate.com.au Freelife Homes are no longer advertising properties (Home or Home/Land) for sale. Even their website doesn't have available lots anymore. "Freelife Homes, Building Your Future" Should be changed to "Freelife Homes - Incapable of Building a House" Has anyone thought about the quality of their work? Surely if they don't have money they wouldn't be hiring the best tradies...? Is it worth hiring a Building Inspector to review their work just for peace of mind? Once the insurance company appoint a new builder to finish the work I would imagine that either the insurance company or the new builder would conduct a building inspection as I cant imagine they'd be willing to finish off a job that is non-compliant. I would maybe wait to see what the building company taking over works says and then get an independent inspection if they don't. I am of course assuming that this is all going to result in insurance claims. I think we are looking at a very long process once we start going down that road. If they are no longer conducting works on houses and can't afford to pay trades to attend sites, I cant see them being able to rectify existing works. up to you of course, but I'd hold off on spending any money until we receive further info from the BC on the future of the company. If for any reason they stumble on some money and save themselves, would be good to have the issues in writing encase they progress on your house and the issues are harder to fix and delays getting keys even further. In terms of quality, I am (was?) in the final stages and had someone check at each stage, other than a few very minor issues the quality of all works has been fine. I suppose if you had major works occurring in the last few months it could have been a different story in terms of what trades they could get. Hmm so reading through the posts from today - firsthomiecoolbelup... So it still looks like there's been a takeover? When do you expect we will find out the outcome for sure? I was hoping it'd be this week. 15 month slab down and counting Johnandlynn, I remember your username from posts quite a while back. Did you end up getting keys and how is it all going? Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 631Apr 02, 2015 4:02 pm @N3II3 - I don't know anything more than anyone else but I am operating under the assumption that i'm not going to get anything else done by Freelife and it'll be for insurance to work out. The info I received from the BC on Tuesday this week was that they are expecting a response form Freelife by early next week, after which they would be in touch to let those who have made complaints know the outcome. I'll PM you a copy of the email I received. Did you end up getting keys and how is it all going? Very well thank you, we were fortunate to get our home finished just over a year ago, this was within the contract time but about three months later than promised. We had a stressful time waiting but ended up pleased with our home. We have given up expecting any follow up support but this pales into insignificance compared to what a lot of you are experiencing. There are at least seven homes built to lockup stage on the ocean side of the main road here in Golden Bay with probably as many on the newer other side of the road. However one of these homes had roof timbers but no tin, but today I noticed that the roofing sheets have been put on, so it does appear that something has happened. Our next door house has had as far as I know no work done for a year, some of the fence has disappeared from the back yard and we have to put up with a stinking toilet next to our garage, but as mentioned this is very minor compared to your worries. Thanks for the reply. Yes I am glad to hear you did get into your house! It's amazing how much the circumstances have changed over the past 12 months... J would loved to have been in within contract time, albeit I can understand the frustration it was after promised time! Interesting to hear there is still a little bit of work going on... Hmm. OMG! The site IS gone! But the facebook site is working for me! Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 638Apr 04, 2015 4:18 pm The Visionare Homes page is also down with the same message. I guess it could be something like they haven't paid the bill for the domain... Or maybe the takeover or insolvency, is occurring. And this is the end. Whatever reason, freelife clients will be notified! Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 639Apr 04, 2015 5:22 pm Assume the websites don't work because they haven't paid their bills. Their Facebook is still active, only because its not something you have to pay for. Has anyone emailed them to see if their cwc emails work?? Re: Anyone Heard of Freelife Homes in WA 640Apr 04, 2015 5:40 pm Freelife have just update the page: Thank you for visiting www.freelifehomes.com.au. This website is currently undergoing maintenance. Please email info@freelifehomes.com.au or call the office on 9347-1600. Thank you. Could still be a takeover? Thoughts? Or are we just too hopeful?! Wish you all the best.
