I am being told this is not possible and they have never seen it before....? Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 602Jul 02, 2014 6:03 pm Also not sire if we want it but they say they can't split the front side light glass to both sides of the door. It has to be on one side.... I'm sure I've seen it split before...? Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 605Jul 03, 2014 8:12 am ![]() What do you mean by that? That the 536 is 13800 wide whereas the 600 series are all 14800 wide. Look and compare all the plans on the website. The 536 isn't just a 632 with a study added to it. The width and length are all different. Some of the taken away width is from the entry. Have you taken a tape measure to a display and measured all the differences out to get a really good idea of what you are actually buying? Its a good idea to. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 606Jul 03, 2014 8:58 am Mine is 15720 wide with the 1.42m garage double plus option or 14300 without? Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 608Jul 03, 2014 9:32 am Even if the entry is 1500 wide, there isnt enough space...920 wide door + split side windows 2*250 + borders around windows and door 50*4. ... Thats over 1600 already. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 610Jul 03, 2014 11:40 am ![]() Mine is 15720 wide with the 1.42m garage double plus option or 14300 without? Well lucky you as your garage is wider than you think! Standard garage is 5990 whereas yours is 7910. So you've actually increased it 1.92 ![]() Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 611Jul 03, 2014 12:24 pm Sorry your right. I was comparing to my old plan which had a 500mm extension. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 613Jul 04, 2014 1:20 pm ![]() My PCI has been booked for the 21st of July. I'm actually quite nervous about it. Hi Ari, that's awesome news! 21st is not far off. They must be confident about it all. How has the rest of build after framing been progressing along? Are u having the independent inspector along as well? Time to think about packing, good luck! Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! Are u having the independent inspector along as well? Time to think about packing, good luck! Yes I've had Darren from Darbecca come out to inspect at Frame and Lockup stage and he will be coming for the PCI. He's picked up a few things along the way and they seem to have fixed them straight away with no questions asked. They seem to know him quite well. The build has gone pretty good. A few weeks of inactivity here and there mainly due to rain and my SS went on leave. I had the Construction Manager take over the build for a month until he found a new SS. That was actually the best part of the build. He phoned me all the time and told me what was planned for the next week. I think I was more chilled out about the build than he was actually lol. We ran into two issues with the plan. Firstly, the sliding doors to the Study were too wide to fit. Does it really surprise anyone that drafting made an error? ![]() Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 616Jul 04, 2014 3:48 pm ![]() What's PCI? Practical Completion Inspection. Actually I think Mainvue/Henley calls it New House Presentation now. It's where you go around with little sticker dots and point out anything you think needs fixing. Then they fix them and you get Handover. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 617Jul 05, 2014 9:50 am ![]() ![]() What's PCI? Practical Completion Inspection. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 618Jul 05, 2014 9:59 am We are very frustrated with how our build is coming along. Right back at the first quote stage we where shown a siting plan with the house 12m back from the front of the block. I told them I was not happy with where the house was and that I wanted it moved. I was told this would be finalised at the tender appointment (I still have these emails). At tender appointment I again mentioned that I was not happy with the siting. We where told that this would be finalized when we had the title (as it had been delayed by the sub dividers, again have these emails). Had specific conversation with the consultant at the tender appointment that I wasn't happy with the set back. After using excuses such as "tight radius driveway" and "you need to be this far away from the neighbouring easement" He finally said it could be finalized at the contract appointment. We finally got the title and was coming up to the contract appointment and after asking numerous times was finally told the house could be moved where you want it, but I would need to pay extra. I was extremely furious when I read that email..... Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 619Jul 05, 2014 10:10 am Will be showing them the emails i have kept... Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 620Jul 05, 2014 1:56 pm Its not going to help you much now but if you build again just remember to never sign anything or handover money until you are happy. The whole "it will be fixed later" is just a way to shut you up and make it not THAT persons problem. For anyone else reading that is still going through the process… don't sign your tender until you are HAPPY with what is on it. Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 26127 I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home. Not only did I find Matt Lowe patronising and a bully, but the home is NOT TO CODE. I have water coming through the bricks… 1 16043 Hi we are looking to talk to people who have built with them recently. We have signed mid range built contract but identified that a lot of things are not included.… 0 2024 |
