Re: KDR Vantage Mode facade modified 62Jul 23, 2019 10:31 pm Hi all, we have been debating about the fridge water point. Should it be positioned high or low on wall? Mean while... Plaster has arrived. Plumbing replumbed. My partner picked up that there should not be branches off branches from a main line. Branches off a main line should go to one utility (sink or shower). Something in the plumbing standard. We have NHI coming tomorrow for preplaster inspections. Re: KDR Vantage Mode facade modified 64Jul 24, 2019 8:42 pm Ramee We have water point installed high on the wall. We didn't asked for them to install it above but may be that is for easy access after fridge placed in there? We’ve had a great few weeks, rendered, painted (external), plastered, waterproofed, skirting and doors installed as well as staircase in... Once they go, they really go. I’m excited for cabinetry, hopefully that’s soon. X Re: KDR Vantage Mode facade modified 66Sep 25, 2019 11:12 am Finally Some. progress with helbal completed down stairs. scaffolding up tommorow. hopefully things will speed up. My SS prefers not to do the reverse build with plaster up before the external walls. I'm happy with this but I wonder if there is any other reasoning. We are also going to build a Vantage with Metricon, currently in contract stage. Do you have Hebel powerfloor (as the subfloor)? Metricon says that they are using steel joints (the frame is still timber); is that the case with your build? Cheers. Hi, we did not go with the hebel floor as at my contract stage I heard it was really expensive. However since then I have heard that M has got better deals with supplier and passing it on to customer. So.. I wished I had hebel floors. We have identified creaking noises and tried our best to have ss rectify. However plaster is on now, and it makes it a little harder to rectify. We still hear creaking in some areas. I would love to hear from Stanus if the power floor was worth it. I will ask him in his feed. Thanks, Macher. Hope M will sort this out for you. Other than the subfloor, the creaking may come from joists sa well. That's why I am a little bit concerned about the steel joints M will use under the Hebel subfloor. Hebel powerfloor is still quite expensive, about 21k for about 190sqm. Re: KDR Vantage Mode facade modified 73Oct 20, 2019 12:30 pm EricHong Looks good, at least some progress. Re: KDR Vantage Mode facade modified 74Oct 20, 2019 7:59 pm Status said it was the best decision he made. $21k sounds like alot. We have spent over $8k on additional accounstic insulation and plan to spend over $1.5k on upgrading carpets and underlay post handover. At the moment, without carpets we can still hear walking (not creaking) from upstairs so maybe $21k would have given us peace of mind. Yes, I have chosen the Hebel subfloor, tiles to ceiling for all bathrooms, brick external walls, and 2.7m ceiling height for both floors, etc..., which bring the total price to 700k+ for Vantage 48. We couldn't get it with some major changes to the design. Regret not doing it now. Thanks, Renman. We do get the Hebel power floors as I couldn't image the floor upon some particle boards. One thing I also regret not doing is asking metricon to build a extra garage size unit at the rear. You can probably get one for $15k the size of 4 x 5m with a roller door and window pedestrian door and lights. This is bargan. It would be the ultimate man cave or retreat. Brick walls and tiles roof included in price. Re: KDR Vantage Mode facade modified 78Oct 22, 2019 9:41 am Macher EricHong Macher Status said it was the best decision he made. $21k sounds like alot. Hi Macher, our brick shed is 6m x 4m with slab, power, lighting, swing door, window and roller door. $15,500 (excluding later upgrades for bricks and colorbond). Re: KDR Vantage Mode facade modified 79Oct 31, 2019 5:59 am Stairs partially installed and kitchen cabinets delivered. House is officially in lock up and probably expect hand over in march 2020. Still many issues with hebel installation as the guys have not been installing as per instruction on hebel Web site. SS is passing our concerns on to installers.
