Were the wall hung loos an upgrade? Yes indeed. Not one of their standard upgrades, but almost nothing in our bathrooms is from their standard or upgraded range. We simply went to Reece and picked out everything ourselves, which worked for us. Wall hung toilets was not a question should we or not, it was like increasing the kitchen height a must Re: Our house in the middle of the street _ Bricks 64Jun 14, 2015 9:55 pm I'd have loved the wall hung hidden cistern too - but it is a bit more problematic in double brick! Wow can't believe you have solar panels already!! Re: Our house in the middle of the street _ Bricks 68Jun 18, 2015 8:45 am MalSannie Is the 'fairyfloss' in all the walls or only the external ones? Wow can't believe you have solar panels already!! We decided to have the insulation only in the external walls and the walls between the garage and the house. There are only 2 of us living in the house so there is no need to have the insulation as an extra sound barrier. They indeed are doing things in a nice and steady pace, love it! The scaffolding on the roof is down and cladding and feature brick should be there soon. Probably we have to wait a while before they are going to paint the cladding, but I can not wait to see how our "green wall" will look like. Expect things to slow down a bit soon. Re: Our house in the middle of the street _ Bricks 69Jun 18, 2015 12:17 pm We thought about placing insulation in our home also, but surprisingly not many in our area do it which makes it an extra. Im worried we may get a little cool of a winter and too hot of a summer because of this but hoping to get a fireplace before next winter as a solution. Your green cladding is SO interesting, i cannot wait to see it. Whats bricks did you choose? They look strikingly similar to ours. Moon Dust PGH bricks. We have double glazing throughout the entire house, 3 zones for our heating and refrigerated cooling, but we left out insulation on internal walls since sound will not be an issue. Not sure if this is a wise decision..... Re: Our house in the middle of the street _ Bricks 71Jun 18, 2015 8:56 pm Yeah I'm with you on that one. My boyfriend and I didn't ever consider that insulation in internal walls would be an extra.... And now... We really like seeing all the process but are dreading the time where no progress can be seen. Official date for handover is 25th October, which makes me wonder what are they going to do all this time. Re: Our house in the middle of the street _ Bricks 77Jun 21, 2015 6:01 pm October! Looks like we will be getting the famous lock up invoice soon. I can not wait until they start with cabinets and tiles, I am so curious how all the selections will come together, or not Re: Our house in the middle of the street _ Lock up 79Jun 23, 2015 6:52 pm Lets hope your tiler will be quicker than ours Live Love Lough Building thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74918 Building blog: http://uniquebyeva.com.au/ourhome/ Our food forest blog: http://www.foodforestcookery.com Re: Our house in the middle of the street _ Lock up 80Jun 23, 2015 7:30 pm sebeva Lets hope your tiler will be quicker than ours I hope so.
