Browse Forums Building A New House Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 61Jan 01, 2015 9:54 pm Haha thought you'd appreciate the beauty of a tile ️ Have you had a browse through houzz? You can look up so many thing.. I've been doing that and same with Pinterest.. I'm also cutting out magazine stuff that I'm instantly falling in love with so I can take it to my appointment so the colour lady at least knows what my style is and I have more to work with than just miniature colour samples to determine my whole house lol! I'm so excited for your appointment! Make sure you take millions of pics!! Do you have anything you're really really wanting to get for the house? Or have you settled on colours? Our big thing will be making our houses look big and airy Yes let's hope 2015 is our moving year! And we have no disasters or setbacks lol Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 62Jan 03, 2015 7:56 am I know I want the house to be big and airy, and quite neutral (lots of white & shine). Other than that, mostly blues. I am sort of doing what you are, saving lots of images to my computer. I also recommend PD World of Style quiz, or just browsing the different styles. I love two of them, so am going to use them for my inspiration I really need to work out my ideas today!!!! Have you got more photos? Share?! Have you decided on your exterior? Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 63Jan 04, 2015 10:20 am I'm so excited to see both of our houses!!!!! They're going to look so beautiful! That site is great! I'm resort style (no huge shock to me there lol) it's really good for ideas ️ Which ones do you love? Have you worked your colours? I don't have any more photos yet.. Lots of ideas lol they're all very different from one another.. Nope still haven't decided on exterior.. That's my biggest focus at the moment... So hard! Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 64Jan 22, 2015 9:34 am My contract is now in the process of being drawn up, very exciting! Apparently this should take about 3 weeks then once I sign I pay my 5% then get my colour and electrical appointments yay Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 65Jan 22, 2015 9:36 am Woohoo! How exciting, have you got all your selections ready to go for the colour appointment? Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 66Jan 22, 2015 10:02 am Are you in the June registration Ash? Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 67Jan 22, 2015 10:06 am Woohoo - how exciting! A word of warning though, it took a LONG time for them to book in our colour and electrical appointments. We have our electrical appointment today, our colour was two weeks ago.... we signed our contract in October.... Very exciting, little daunting though I don't want to make the wrong decision lol Manderinne - I haven't really, I know I want to go for resort luxury style which I will style with my own eclectic taste lol. I've got a scrap book of the looks I love.. I want to get lots of ideas from my consultant based on looks and styles, colours etc that I love instead of going in completely set on one thing and not considering any other options that may work better.. Firsttimer05 - yeah June rego, how about you? I'm in Mathew bell way, the work seems to be flying along, I saw gutters were in the last time I was there! Going so much faster than I expected! Mellywil - oh bummer! My consultant pretty much said as soon as I sign the contracts my appointments would be organised straight away. Which office are you going through? I'm going through the willowdale office and my consultant has been fantastic! Jul33m1 - you're house is really starting to take shape! You don't realise how big the slab is until you see a person next to it, mine will be so much smaller I'm really hoping not too small though! I put in a provision to get some down lights in the living/dining/kitchen but I think I'll stick fairly standard with the rest so I should have a very straightforward appointment, my long one will definitely be the colours.. Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 70Jan 26, 2015 8:54 am Ash, we got a call for our tile appointment within days of signing the contract but it was weeks before they booked colour and electrical and six weeks from BOOKING the electrical until the first appointment was avaiable! This was over Christmas though, which might have made a difference. We were through Gledswood Hills and the sales guy was great. Finding the head office staff and our CSO to be a bit slower and a little less on the ball though Follow my Coral Daydream 28 build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72384 Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 71Jan 26, 2015 11:58 am [quote="Mellywil"]Ash, we got a call for our tile appointment within days of signing the contract but it was weeks before they booked colour and electrical and six weeks from BOOKING the electrical until the first appointment was avaiable! Finding the head office staff and our CSO to be a bit slower and a little less on the ball though /quote] Oh that's a bummer! Hopefully it was everyone trying to get in before Xmas and I may have a little more luck, although to be honest it doesn't really bother me, I have until June before the land registers so I guess the less time I have to rethink my decisions the better lol! I started with the Gledswood office but my consultant moved when the willowdale office opened How did you find the colour appointment? Was the consultant helpful and knowledgable? Did you get everything you wanted? Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 72Jan 26, 2015 5:32 pm Hi Ash. The earliest we could get our colours & electrical appointment was 4 weeks. It took another 4 to 5 weeks for Coral to issue the variations from the colours appointment. The colour consultant was really helpful although we already had a pretty good idea what we were after and took all our samples with us. Do as much research as possible before you go! Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 73Jan 26, 2015 5:41 pm Colours and electrical for us was around 3 weeks. Which was good as it let us visit the Robina showroom for an open day prior. Our variations came through a further 3 weeks after that. Agree with Daydream. Do as much research as you can prior and it'll help you through both appointments. For our clip spec appointment I had a quote of items from Beacon plus Coral's installation charges handy so I could compare to the Clipsal options. We didn't end up doing much electrical outside of clipspec - just ceiling fans and 3x pendants. Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 74Jan 26, 2015 6:41 pm ASH Jordan Springs Oh that's a bummer! I started with the Gledswood office but my consultant moved when the willowdale office opened How did you find the colour appointment? Was the consultant helpful and knowledgable? Did you get everything you wanted? Oh, you must have Hayley I've spoken to her a couple of times and she seems lovely. Unfortunately though, once you sign contracts, you don't really see or speak to your sales person again, you get shifted to a Customer Service Consultant at head office. The colour consultant was lovely too. We were pretty vague about some things and have no idea how to match stuff (can't visualise anything until it's shown to us) so she was a big help. I knew what I wanted for kitchen and she helped with the rest. Electrical again was great. We went to the Macquarie Park office (I didn't want to do it on the computer) and the lady was great. She didn't try and sell us stuff and even tried to help us save money by suggesting alternatives. Mind you, we still went over budget! Be prepared to spend money there. For both appointments I'd done a fair amount of research, so it's good to be prepared. I have a scrapbook full of ideas and I'll take my iPad which has basically everything I can find on it that I love, I want to have my house look luxurious without upgrades, I have the top package included and basically everything I wanted included in my tender, I've already been in the colour studio so I have a good idea of what to expect and I like my standard options. I don't really have any idea of what to expect in my electrical but I had my consultant put in a $ provision that she thought I would need, I don't want anything flash luckily. I'm happy the colour consultants are good because I know the look I want but I need to use my standard options to achieve it so they should be able to help me with that I didn't realise I had to switch to a head office consultant though Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 76Feb 01, 2015 9:37 pm My land is going full steam ahead! Went for a visit this weekend and all the cluttering is done, unfortunately you can't see my street because it's right on the top of the hill but it's still so exciting! Everything is progressing quicker than I thought, every time I visit it seems to have something new! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ . So far I have some yuccas, frangipani, elephant leaf plant (no idea of its real name but it looks like it would be by a Balinese resort pool), bird of paradise, the ever indestructible agapanthus and a few other pretty flowering types. Today I randomly bought a dwarf sunflower and some other tropical style plant.. Here's some if the others I like too. I like the bathrooms that use all the same tile, I don't think that will overpower my bathrooms because of the nice big windows they will have ️ some examples: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ . Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 79Feb 02, 2015 8:24 am Wow! How exciting, can't believe your already signing contracts I think because I'm with a small builder the order of things is a bit different, I'll be doing electrical, colour, and estate approval prior to signing the contract, which I kind of like. Good luck at your colour appointment! Though it sounds like your well prepared. Also, I love having one patterned tile throughout the bathroom too! We have such similar tastes. I want to put my 600x600 beige patterned tile throughout, but I'm not sure if I will be able to due to the difficultly of laying a large tile in a small space, my building is already being super kind in letting me have a porcelain tile while I'm paying for ceramic, so don't want to push it. The tile does come in 300x600 though, so maybe I'll go to the smaller tile in the bathroom only. Anyways, good luck, can't wait to see what you pick out! Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 80Feb 02, 2015 9:39 am I like that bathroom look ASH. Especially the second pic you posted with the lighter, streaky kinda grey. We went with a grey tile to our bathroom and alfresco floor and also have it going up over the bath.
