Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans Ready! 62May 28, 2014 8:22 pm mjbigo Hi sinurt, Thanks for posting about the door. I followed your link to have a look at your upgrade list. Which door did you end up going for? does it has a side panel? Cheers This is the door we selected and no it doesn't have a side panel but we didn't have one in our plans http://www.corinthian.com.au/Products/Doors/Entry/Sunburst-External-Range/Sunburst-SUN-Grand We are just going with clear glass for now but the plan is to get it tinted after we moved in Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans Ready! 63May 28, 2014 8:27 pm dannislade congrats on final plans, that was super fast and now im jealous. fingers crossed there right. Thanks but going from previous peoples experiences I am not expecting them to be right Fingers crossed they are though and hopefully they were actually posted yesterday as promised and that we get them this week!! Was quite surprised that they were ready so quickly though! Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans Ready! 64May 28, 2014 8:34 pm Those taps always get stolen!! What's the deal - is there some sort of black market for them? I am going to hide in the bush across the road from my block and wait for someone to try steal mine haha. Love the door! I didn't find a mistake on mine... which makes me think that I have missed them! On a few blocks here in Pearsall the builder puts a lock thing over the taps so they can't be taken. Seems like a cheap fix for what seems to be a big problem! Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 67May 29, 2014 11:22 pm Yay so received the final plans in post today and shock horror they look to be all correct We have signed them and I will drop them into the office tomorrow - don't want the post to delay them Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And here is our fixed elevation, complete with our lovely front door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ have to laugh at their impression of the feature stone cladding though The actual stone cladding is from these guys and its the Cleft Face black that we have gone with. http://www.archistone.com.au/stone.htm Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 68May 29, 2014 11:37 pm congrats and yay they are correct and are looking great! just wondering did they give you insulation in your walls? Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 69May 30, 2014 3:31 pm Wow, that will look really good with the stone wall. Great choice. Did they let you move the down pipes from the front elevation on pre-start? Or was it something you changer earlier? Congrats, soon you should be living in your new home. Thanks and yip as far as I know all the external walls are insulated - I hope so anyway lol mjbigo Wow, that will look really good with the stone wall. Great choice. Did they let you move the down pipes from the front elevation on pre-start? Or was it something you changer earlier? Congrats, soon you should be living in your new home. Thanks In our original plans one of our down pipes was at the front left of the garage and as we wanted to put external lights there we moved it around the corner at pre-start. Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 71May 31, 2014 7:45 pm May I ask what did they charge to move the down pipes and how much for each external light? I want to keep my spreadsheet as up to date as possible. Pre-start in a week. Cheers Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 72Jun 01, 2014 6:52 pm mjbigo May I ask what did they charge to move the down pipes and how much for each external light? I want to keep my spreadsheet as up to date as possible. Pre-start in a week. Cheers Hi, Moving the down pipes was no cost. I don't have the cost of the external lights though I'm afraid. When you are doing the electrical plan the prices are shown on screen along with the total cost but it seems to be only the total price that is printed out. Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 73Jun 03, 2014 11:57 am Great, I love things that have no extra cost. Have you or anyone reading done hobless shower? does it cost more? I mean, the logic to me is that it wouldn't. The slab is flat, they just need to continue the tile. In oppose to building a brick barrier, cutting the tile to create the shower border, etc. To me the hobless sounds like less work?!!! Have you or anyone done? do you know if it cost more, $?? Cheers Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 74Jun 03, 2014 1:47 pm Congrats on final plans, they look really good Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 75Jun 03, 2014 2:47 pm mjbigo Great, I love things that have no extra cost. Cheers Hobless showers cost more because of making sure the falls for the shower are correct, and the shower needs a different valve or something. Some builders charge you $250 for a hobless shower, I've also had builders quote $1000 for a hobless shower. I understand that they need to do some extra work on the screed and would be happy to pay the extra $250. But 1k is a ripoff in my opinion. What did you end up doing? Cheers Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 77Jun 07, 2014 8:18 pm They wanted to charge me $1700 for both my showers to be hobless because of some valve they needed. Needless to say, I have a hob! Plans are looking great - loving the look of the elevation! Cheers Hi Mjbigo Have you done your pre start , if you don't mind may I know the cost for hobless shower please Thanks Re: First Home Build in Wellard WA - Final Plans! 79Jun 09, 2014 11:31 pm Hi Dream home 2015, We will pay $948 for both. I found it a bit abusive but I can't let it go!!! On the weekend we went around on display homes just to have a final look. It was unusually quiet and I had the opportunity to ask lots of questions to a sales rep. When I asked about the hobless shower I got told that all new designs (same designs) all come with hobless shower. So depending when you signed and your package you may get that without cost. I tried to negotiate, but no luck. I have posted all my electrical prices done today (9/6/14). Have a look here viewtopic.php?f=31&t=71334 Are you booked for pre-start already?
