Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Munchy's First Home with Redink in Baldivis - Prestart D 61Feb 02, 2013 5:43 am house plans are fantastic so much detail and the 3d image of the house love it Re: Munchy's First Home with Redink in Baldivis - Prestart D 62Feb 05, 2013 6:49 pm Thanks guys, I am looking at our electrical plans which include data cabling and I am not sure the reasoning behind the layout. I have noticed we have what the builder calls a C1D1 (1x Coaxial + 1x Data) point on the same wall as a TV Ariel Point. We also have separate data only connections on the same wall (2x Data points in the games and 4 x Data points in the Theatre). Our Prestart rep has said that the C1D1 is for if we want to connect a smart TV and the Ariel port is if we need to connect a normal digital TV. Is this right? To me it feels that the Coaxial points are redundant in these locations and could be better utilised elsewhere. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Best of luck! Re: Munchy's First Home with Redink in Baldivis - Prestart D 64Feb 20, 2013 4:39 pm Hi Munchy, I will be following your post as we are just about to head into Prestart with Redink!! Our house has been modelled off the Lifestyle but in areas looks far more like the Pacific We had to make quite a few changes to fit it on our block but kept the general feel of the living area!! Any tips you can give about the design consult and Prestart would be great!!! Do you mind if I asked how much you ended up spending at Prestart? I am thinking our electrical plan is gonna hurt!!! Good luck with everything!! Re: Munchy's First Home with Redink in Baldivis - Prestart D 65Feb 20, 2013 6:35 pm Hi WildwoodDream, Definitely bring a jacket their aircon works overtime!!! wehad a list of things to ask questions about/get upgraded it helped alot going through thetings you forget thread on this forum. Make sure you have at least a general idea of what you would like before you see the design consultant. It makes it much easier for them to give you good advice. For prestart try and work out what you would like upgraded and price them yourself beforehand, get them to add everything in then just take out what you don't want or what you thing is overpriced. If you are getting data cabling make sue you know what you need as they won't be able to help much past what they offer in a package. We spent about $2,000 on electrical all those powerpoints add up. Total over base price is about $30K but we have upgraded alot. Any other questions let me know and I will do my best to help out. We're about $30k over base price as well as we made stacks of changes in the design phase, it's great to know an approx figure for electrical as I know we're going to need a lot more powerpoints etc! Love your exterior colour selections!! It's pretty much exactly what we are looking at! What colour is your front door going to be? And are you paving the driveway, path, portico? Re: Munchy's First Home with Redink in Baldivis - Prestart D 67Feb 20, 2013 7:56 pm Front door will be to match colorbond woodland grey (same as the gutters). Path and driveway will be Charcoal I think it was called (the darkest standard paver anway) with a limestone border. We have decided against the tiled portico as we couldn't justify the cost (was going to end up just under $3,000). So it will be rendered in Solver London Fog Our build thread with Redink 11/1 - Prestart 5/4 - Slab 29/4 - Brickwork 27/5 - Roof Cover 20/6 - Lock Up 20/8 - PCI 10/9 - Handover Re: Munchy's First Home with Redink in Baldivis - Prestart D 68Feb 20, 2013 9:25 pm Thanks so much Munchy! We were going to do our glass splashback outside of the build as think it will be cheaper, was the upgrade cost reasonable? Also what did you go for your main flooring? Sorry, 100 questions!!!! Re: Munchy's First Home with Redink in Baldivis - Prestart D 69Feb 20, 2013 11:52 pm No worries. We had our slashback as part of the PCQ but was about $1,000 from memory. Flooring we are doing ourselves but are looking at wood most likely blackbutt if we can get a good price. I remember that feeling Re: Munchy's First Home with Redink in Baldivis - Prestart D 78Feb 24, 2013 9:27 pm Haha I find it odd that we are so excited about a tap but after waiting what seems like ages it is the first sign of something tangible happening Our build thread with Redink 11/1 - Prestart 5/4 - Slab 29/4 - Brickwork 27/5 - Roof Cover 20/6 - Lock Up 20/8 - PCI 10/9 - Handover Re: Munchy's First Home with Redink in Baldivis - Prestart D 79Feb 25, 2013 11:33 am Hey Munchy! Congrats! We have a tap now too, I spotted it on Saturday when I was showing my sister-in-law the block. I know what you mean about something so small being exciting! Progress is progress - doesn't matter how small! (You have a lovely Running Postman ground cover next to your tap too! They are one of my favourite native plants!) Be interesting to see if there is much difference in build times being roughly the same size house! The race is on!
