We are arranging to see the tiler around 16th/17th March on site to discuss the feature tiles in the Bathroom and Ensuite and work out the fitting of lights with the electrician. At this pace we should be at looking at finish building by mid/end April. Their work looks first class as far as I can see from my daughters photos. Very good work ethics and housekeeping from the team, never seen such a clean site around the house area whilst roof tiling and brickwork still in progress. They are hand cleaning bricks the same day rather than someone coming back later, really good work. Holding deposit paid earlier in the week and contract signed. Had pest and building inspections done today, just have to wait another week for cooling off and then settlement period. Fortunately the purchaser is very flexible with the settlement, because they are putting their existing home on the rental market after moving in here, so they do not have to rush to move. This will work well for us and will give us time to do the driveway, carpets and main floor tiling before we finally move from here and into our new home. Exciting but tiring times. We listed our house for sale a few weeks ago with a grave concern over how long it would take to sell as everything is very slow at the moment but we had a contract in 4 days. Some friends have indicated we let it go too cheaply but I don't think it would have stood up in a valuation for the buyers for anymore than we got...I was concerned it wouldn't have stood up for the amount we did receive. My brother in law and husband have been working on putting up our shed the last few days and in less than 2 weeks we will be homeless until our house is built....well good old mum and dad will have to put up with our company. I should be packing but the kids are still asleep and I don't want to make too much noise. Your daughter has taken wonderful progress photos along the way. You guys should have an album of the photos on your coffee table when all the hard work is done. I hope I'm as good with keeping up with the photos. Look forward to the next installment. What colour window frame have you used if you don't mind me asking? Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption.
