Re: Our Custom build with Rossdale -Estimated handover 3-4 weeks 62Aug 11, 2009 7:37 pm SS gave us an estimate today that he think only 3 or 4 weeks left! Very exciting! Today the painter started & the built in robes went in. Yesterday the kitchen splashback was done. Should have some more pictures tomorrow. We are doing our own water tank and that is going in tomorrow. Our SS has been really good and is happy for us to get this done now so there is less to do after handover. We will still have the flooring to do after handover so it will probably about 5 or 6 weeks until we can actually move in. I think we've picked the same bathroom tiles as you, except our white tiles are going vertical and they match the size of the floor tiles. How long do you think it will be till they're done? Thanks D&SG! We are really happy with how everything has come up and I think the tiles will be even better once they are clean. Today we got told 3-4 weeks so fingers crossed..... Great that you only have 3-4 weeks to go, that's very exciting. Our last couple of weeks have dragged and I think the tiler held a few tradies up. But I forgive him as he did such a great job Keep those photies coming Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: Our Custom build with Rossdale -Estimated handover 3-4 weeks 66Aug 14, 2009 3:33 pm Hi WoodVilleSouth, Its good to hear that the building process has gone smoothly for you. We are also building with Rossdale, slab is getting poured soon!!! yay i was just wondering how long the building phase has taken so far for you?? We have a target completion time of March Re: Our Custom build with Rossdale -Estimated handover 3-4 weeks 67Aug 14, 2009 5:34 pm Hi Gemma Great to hear from another Rossdale person! There are only a few of us floating around on this forum. Our site start was 8th April and the slab went down on 16th April so it has been going along quite quickly since the build started (paperwork stage was another story!). If all goes to plan we should have handover within 5 months of the build starting so that is pretty good. Our site supervisor has kept things moving pretty well with only a couple of delays along the way. I'd say that March should be a realistic timeframe if your slab isn't too far away, you might even be in earlier than that. You will lose abit of time because of the Christmas break but at least you shouldn't have too much of an issue with bad weather causing problems. Whereabouts are you building? What design? However, there are many alterations to the floor plan. double garage, We have added a lounge room, so we have the extra space at the front of the house, because of this the bedrooms have become a bigger, and there in different spots, so its based on the marden but nothing like it really. And i have to say Rossdale was great with all the alterations. Its great to hear the building has gone quickly so far ... I know what you mean about the paperwork, as soon as we had completed selctions it all went down hill from there. We are nearly there, it's so exciting now. We did that ourselves & luckily our SS has let us get it done prior to handover which might mean we can get just abit of water in it before we move in to help with the garden. Otherwise we would have moved in during Sept and had an empty tank all summer. Originally we were going to have a slimline tank down the side of the house but once the brickwork went up we decided that we didn't have alot of room there but the backyard had heaps of space so we decided to go for a much bigger round one. We wanted a tank that was bigger than could fit through the access so we got it built on site and it cost less than the off-the-shelf tanks that the other companies offer. The company we used is called Taylor Made Tanks and they have been fantastic and so for anyone building in Adelaide, I can highly recommend getting them to at least give you a quote. PM me if you want the details. Anyway, here is our 12,000 litre tank: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Here is our back roller door. The front one (panel lift) has not been put in yet but is the same colour so this one has given us an idea what it will look like with the bricks: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Last but not least here is the kitchen splashback which is a glass mosaic tile. The colour hasn't come up all that well in the photo. They are actually a real silver/blue colour not grey like they look here: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our custom build with Rossdale http://hazehome.blogspot.com/ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17630 Re: Our Custom build with Rossdale- Shower screens pics 21/8 72Aug 21, 2009 11:26 pm Our shower screens, bathroom mirrors & towel rails are now in. Yes we are really happy with how the kitchen has come up. It was abit of a challenge for the cabinetmaker but we had a very clear idea what we wanted and eventually they were able to translate it into the real thing. The normal lock doesn't work yet so it needs to be deadlocked but it appears that the guys who delivered the oven & cooktop (yay!!) didn't realised and just shut the door without locking it. Without a key for the deadlock there was nothing he could do but shut the door and hope nobody else tried to open it. We couldn't get in touch with our SS to tell him (not returning calls right now) so he rang head office and let the CSO know. I went over after work and the door was still unlocked but the electrician must have been there during the afternoon. The oven was installed, all the downlights in and the light fittings installed in the pantry (they forgot them in 1st fix). Sorry no pictures, that will have to wait until tomorrow when my husband is there with his camera. The gas has been connected to the house too. We are hoping the electrician will be back tomorrow to finish a couple of powerpoints, install the external up/down lights and install the cooktop. After the electrical is finished it is just the security system (wiring already done) and then the fixing of the gutter on the portico (grrrr! still waiting for this to be fixed) and then the external painting including front render. We found the 1st actual mistake they have made with our selections in that we selected to have mirrored doors on the robe in the 4th bedroom but they have just put the normal doors in all rooms. Our CSO said they will get that fixed but we are not worried if that doesn't happen until after handover as that is one of the spare rooms anyway.
