Just thought I would pipe up and join the conversation! Knocking down a house on a big block, subdividing and building a pair of duplexes. Re: Building with Rendition Homes 65Aug 15, 2009 10:47 pm Fantastic - looking forward to reading about your journey. Are you planning to live in one or rent/sell both. In some ways I wish our first build was on a rental rather than our home, would make decisions so much easier with alot less upgrades. Oh well, I guess this one will just have to be perfect. 2011 Home Sweet Home Handover 03 September 2010 PCI 27August 2010 Plumber 20August 2010 Electrician 19August 2010 Painting 04 August 2010 Cabinets 13Jul2010 Lockup 23June Frame 20April slab 1Mar10 Re: Building with Rendition Homes 66Aug 16, 2009 12:00 am We've signed on our final contract and everything now depends on the go-ahead from the bank. Should be no problems but the banks are apparently a lot slower these days than they have been in the past. Rendition will start preparing the site within a week or two of bank approval. Will let you know how we go. So relieved to reach this point. And very, very happy with our selections and what we hope will be a great family home. ![]() Looking forward to hearing how we all go when building actually starts... My husband drove past this morning and there were trucks and work men delivering dirt. I think slab will be poured in 3 weeks. Feels like things are really happening Re: Building with Rendition Homes 70Aug 27, 2009 6:03 pm wow I think things really are happening - are you talking lots of pics? 2011 Home Sweet Home Handover 03 September 2010 PCI 27August 2010 Plumber 20August 2010 Electrician 19August 2010 Painting 04 August 2010 Cabinets 13Jul2010 Lockup 23June Frame 20April slab 1Mar10 Re: Building with Rendition Homes 71Aug 29, 2009 11:11 pm Hi! Just checking in... fabes - that's great news! Finally some action!!! Would love to see pics as it progresses. ![]() We're still waiting on the bank but it's only been two weeks since we signed off on everything and gave them a bank pack. Rendition called to say development approval had gone through and this was the final piece of information the bank needed. Apparently when we get our approval from the bank Rendition's lead time is 4-6 weeks to get on site. So being Rendition maybe say... 6-8 weeks ![]() We're going with Commonwealth Bank. Not sure whether some bank are quicker than others these days? Our broker said approvals take anything up to 2 months but CB aren't too bad. Our online account says a loan with a zero balance has been set up so here's hoping we'll have good news soon! Anna1 - I'm guessing you're not far behind us? Re: Building with Rendition Homes 72Aug 30, 2009 1:14 pm hey roar - c'mon the bank! I spoke with RH last week. Our engineers report should have been ready last week so we are expecting our contract price summary this week. We are going through a credit union who we already have our mortgage with so I am hoping when we are at that stage we should be relatively quick as we are only increasing the amount we currently owe. Mortgage is on the property we are building on. I just don't want to be at the end of the year and not have started. 2011 Home Sweet Home Handover 03 September 2010 PCI 27August 2010 Plumber 20August 2010 Electrician 19August 2010 Painting 04 August 2010 Cabinets 13Jul2010 Lockup 23June Frame 20April slab 1Mar10 Re: Building with Rendition Homes 73Sep 02, 2009 1:47 pm Hello I drove past our block today and I we have a portable toilet!!!!!!!! When I got back to work I emailed RH and was told that they will dig trenches when the weather clears up, hope this will be sometime next week. Very exciting! Re: Building with Rendition Homes 76Sep 11, 2009 12:33 am How does it look 2011 Home Sweet Home Handover 03 September 2010 PCI 27August 2010 Plumber 20August 2010 Electrician 19August 2010 Painting 04 August 2010 Cabinets 13Jul2010 Lockup 23June Frame 20April slab 1Mar10 Re: Building with Rendition Homes 77Sep 17, 2009 1:10 pm HI It looks good, smaller than what I thought but everyone says that the slab does look small until they start putting up the frame. I am glad that we have been in the display home and have see the house finished, I know that there will be plenty of space. We go the contact details of our site supervisior, my husband called him yesterday to find out what was next, he said that some drains will be dug to see if the slab has completey dried and then the timber will be delivered approx a week or two away. I did have to laugh, RH are renowned for their lack of communication and admin skills but when it comes to sending us a bill for the first instalment they were right on time! How is everyone else going? Re: Building with Rendition Homes 78Sep 17, 2009 1:50 pm Hi Fabes Things are finally happening for you! ![]() And same with us! We are now waiting for our site preparation to be scheduled (approx 3-4 weeks) and then the slab is supposed to go down 2-3 weeks after that (so similar scenario to yourself). We're getting closer! Approximate handover will be May next year. Seems like forever... How are things looking with you Anna1? Re: Building with Rendition Homes 79Sep 17, 2009 2:02 pm Hi Guys, We're about three months ahead of you and have just reached lock-up. Prior to building we weren't too pumped with REndition, however they've redemmed themselves in the building phase! The house has just gone up so quickly and we've been happy with the workmanship too! We've had a couple of little hick-ups but the site manager, rob is excellent and everything has been fixed promptly. Good luck, you're going to be amazed just how quickly everything happens once the slab has cured. ....And the slab does look small, even the framing looks small but once the gyprock goes on everything looks really, reall big! I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 110971 Hi there! Putting the feelers out there for those who have (or almost) built with Arli homes! Interested in your experiences who've built from their stock home designs… 0 27163 Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 26120 |
