I should be asking my liason about this, but eh, I've nagged her enough today!
Correct, as you've placed a deposit of $1000 already, the remainder is $7700.

But will the $1000 holding deposit I've already made make that $7700? I should be asking my liason about this, but eh, I've nagged her enough today! Correct, as you've placed a deposit of $1000 already, the remainder is $7700. Re: Building with Burbank... 62Sep 11, 2009 9:58 am Awesome. Must say I've been fairly impressed with Burbank so far. My liason replies to emails very quickly - If i email at night, she usually replies around 8:30am in the morning! Good stuff. They will be fitting me in for Sept. 30 too. Yay Re: Building with Burbank... 63Sep 12, 2009 12:43 am Glad to hear it's coming along ibfraga. If you sign before sept 30 chances are you won't have visited edge selection studio. You will be spending extra there. I had a $5000 edge voucher, hopefully you have one too. I used all of it. I'm told everyone does. Brick infills and electrical took up most of it(about $3000). They recommend upgrading the toilets and it's probably a good idea(only $20 each). Consider sliding doors for the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms(easier to move around, $260 each though, do this before colour selection). If you don't have the voucher, colour selection will add $5000 or more to the price. Hope this doesn't put you off. Gravity. Its the law. My contract has a few wrinkles to iron out so it might take a little longer. They have asked for a steep site surcharge. The slope on the block is 1.56m with no fill. Seems wrong, I'll let you know what happens. I also found it useful to hold onto the emails like klscomps suggested. BTW if you take the selection special with freebie you do get electrical selection, but I don't think you go in for it. You definitely get an electrical selection Gravity. Its the law. Hey - was the contract $ more than what you were quoted on the "New Home Order" ? (not counting any variations you made) Our home order included site costs etc, council stuff, termite etc... but wondering if some other magic things going to be added on the day. I'll be taking klcomp's advise and skipping the 'free stuff' promo - we have some solid ideas on our coloring My liason says we won't be doing our colour selection until later after the contract which is fine by me. Only thing we want to change is the floors, some nice dark bricks and stone benchtop. Re: Building with Burbank... 66Sep 12, 2009 1:26 am My new home order was a good guide for the contract. My contract came in under my new home order but this is because my developer agreed to do the site cut. Burbank is checking out the site cut on monday, if it isn't up to scratch my contract will match my new home order. The fixed site costs seem quite reasonable at Burbank. Even the retaining wall has a great price attached to it. I'm really happy with the site costs, no magic extras. I passed on the 'free stuff' promo too. I was happy with one of the colour boards but I wanted to change one thing and that exempts me from the gift. Also you can't use the edge voucher in combination with the 'free stuff' promo, says so at the bottom. I had to get permission to use some of the voucher on flooring, they don't typically allow it. You better talk to the sales guy or cs and make sure. At one stage they were willing to let me use all of it on flooring but they had a good think about it first. Gravity. Its the law. Yeah, seriously the toilets they showed me when I went through for a visit at The Edge, were a joke. My rear would break that plastic **** in no time. I'm Big Red. Re: Building with Burbank... 71Sep 12, 2009 3:52 pm Hi All, I’m a first timer, building the SoHo 28. Colour selection on Monday contract signing on Tuesday (hopefully as I still have a few questions about the contract). I’ve been reading the forum for a while but this is my first post so THANK YOU to all for the valuable reading! Any advice on things to look out for at colour selection and contract would be great. I’d really love to hear from other SoHo builders about changes, colour selections, electricals any thing would be awesome! THANKS! Re: Building with Burbank... 72Sep 12, 2009 5:27 pm Burbank has changed their website. Now most of it requires Silvershite. Not good! Re: Building with Burbank... 73Sep 12, 2009 5:50 pm yeah its a bit dumb. the first page uses Flash and the rest uses silvershite. Why not just use flash for it all? apart from that the sites okay though. Re: Building with Burbank... 74Sep 12, 2009 11:16 pm Hi Nelle, I'm not building the Soho, sorry. I'm signing on Tuesday as well. After my colour selection I went back and forth a bit and I got to the point where they would charge me $500 for another variation. If you have the time take a week before asking for any changes. There is probably a few things that come up at selection that seem OK for a while and then you realize there's no power point next to the phone connection or some such. The electrical selection especially caught me out. Good Luck Nelle Gravity. Its the law. I'm guessing standard range is just your usual oranges/cremes? Re: Building with Burbank... 76Sep 12, 2009 11:43 pm My contrast bricks are category 1(standard) darker brown bricks, Boral Brown Terrain. I didn't have a look through their range, the bricks were part of a colour board I liked. BTW, I think I'm a bit colour blind. The colour selection guy went on about green-whites and yellow-whites, I couldn't tell the difference. I asked him if he had anything black-white. Gravity. Its the law.
