Im in QLD and we got flyscreens.. I asked for them at tender stage.. They were about $1400 for our 38sq house Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5644Apr 01, 2015 5:48 pm rmjose18 Sydney build - yes to fairmont..i spoke to the SS and he said it will not look anything like that whew..the gyrocker will come and fill it up and the cornice will go over it.. we did put in extra strengthening points for lights, hanging TV (conduit) .. they are more than happy to do it.. read extra money We did get the conduit for passing cables ....I am talking about any extra blocks of wood in the frame. Did you ask and pay for them ? rmjose18 also surprised they didnt ask you about upgrades!!! all they kept telling us were about the upgrades!!! ohhh .. dont worry....had plenty of upgrades. Spent about $45,000 for a 24SQ house upgrades ! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5645Apr 01, 2015 7:19 pm This is what is on our tender, without asking for it: Quote: TENDER - BUSHFIRE REQUIREMENTS T2 12-13 Provide aluminium mesh to to each opening window sash of aluminium window in lieu of fibreglass mesh TENDER - WINDOWS T2 22-1 Provide and install aluminium framed flyscreens (Fibreglass Mesh) to each opening window sash of aluminium window The second bit basically says to "provide" and "install" flyscreens to each window that opens and the first bit is part of the BAL 12.5 requirements of the fibreglass mesh being replaced with aluminium mesh. So yeh.. definitely included on our tender. Yes, stacker doors and all other doors. Just that I didn't copy and paste that bit from the tender but it's all there. The only windows I'm not certain about are the awning windows that have the hinge at the top and open outwards. Definitely all the sliding windows though will have the mesh according to the tender. Ummm I think 15 plus a triple stacker sliding door Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5651Apr 01, 2015 11:21 pm Sydney-build On another note, did anyone ask for extra frame blocking where the TV / clothes dryer is going to be hung ? What was Clarendon's response ? I asked about extra noggins for wall mounted TV's and our SS said that we're better hanging on the vertical studs. Where are you up to with your build now? Didn't our slabs get poured on the same day?! I've been in our house for a month now! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5655Apr 02, 2015 3:40 pm Jayjay84 Maybe u will find a tile u like better! Let's hope so anyway The thing is the tiler suppose to start next week for wet area, so this re-selection will set us back at least a week And I dont want to go all the way to seven hill to re-pick the tiles since I want to visit our build at moorebank gaaahhh!!! I'm almost to the point where I let the guy to choose it for me, but I'm scared that I wont be happy with his choice. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5657Apr 02, 2015 4:03 pm @LauraKG - wow you have moved already? That was quick! I think our slab was also poured around the same time? End Oct14? Well, externals are just getting finished - not ready for gyprock yet dunno when Clarendon will move to internals... Ver very slow progress indeed!! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5658Apr 02, 2015 4:06 pm Hi all! I'm building with Clarendon homes in QLD. I've just come out of council and have noticed that they have highlighted that my upstairs requires barrier screens on certain windows for BCA approval (don't want children falling out of high windows). No one from Clarendon has mentioned anything to do with this yet. Do i assume that Clarendon have already taken care of this as i'm guessing you can't build a two story home without these screens on the top level anymore or should i prepare myself for a variation paid for by my own wallet?? Anyone had the same issue? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5659Apr 02, 2015 6:23 pm I didn't require barrier screens. I wonder if it depends on the type of windows you have? I haven't seen it mentioned on here at all but someone might have some more insight for you. Welcome! Ver very slow progress indeed!! Yes, it was quick for a 37sq house (even though it didn't feel like it!) Our slab was pored nov 13th, we got handover on feb 27th. Where are you building? I'm in QLD and it seems a lot quicker than NSW! Not even on internals yet... When do they think they'll be finished?! It is Genneral stairs, but they won't deal with anyone off the street.
