For slab? Frames and windows? Bricks? Internal linings?or Just before hand over? Im building with WH. Do they inspect themselves before going to the next stage? I want to know how people normally do. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5284Aug 09, 2013 12:35 pm The best times imo is to have inspections before linings (and insulation) and at completion. Not sure how WH do it, but EBH do get an inspector out during these two stages. Hi Narzis82 I just had the inspection by an external inspector and I'm building with WH. They did this at the point just before they started on the gyprocking... So the slab, frame, roof, aircon ducting and brickwork and windows were isntalled.... Thanks Izzy Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5288Aug 25, 2013 9:26 am Izzysyd narzis82 At what stage did you guys have inspection service? For slab? Frames and windows? Bricks? Did you search them on Google? I will probably have an inspection at the same stage, before internal lining. Cheers rach Hi Rach, The inspector was through WH (sorry he is external but they organise this) and from what I've seen nothing changed in the house. In fact the gyprock has already been finalised and I'm ready for lockup on the 04/09. You are able to get your own independent inspection at the end. Hope everything is going well for you. Thanks Izzy Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5291Aug 29, 2013 6:41 am Just wondering if anyone living in GF has used Austral Leisure bricks or PGH Cement or Gravel and does not mind pm'ing me there address??? I would love to do a drive by to check out what they really look like as a completed house before we lock in our externals. We were given lists of houses by the brick companies but they were all over the place and a bit far away. Plus most of the from PGH were lot numbers and the houses are now using street numbers. Could not find anything! Thanks. If so will the builder provide us the interim occupancy certificate. Also will they provide us with the final inspection report ??!! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5294Sep 02, 2013 1:35 pm Hi, Im about to start my driveway and my land is quite flat so very little soil removal (I believe). WH are charging $750 for a 13 tonne truck to take a way the dirt. Has anyone dealt with anyone that has removed dirt for them quite cheaply. I think its a bit excessive. Has anyone also had the issue where their driveway is not in line with their house on Hoy Street. Its costing me a further 1K to rectify the driveway.... I dont quite understand why nobody realised this would happen. It almost looks as though someone has used us more land somewhere and then scewed everyone up :/... Help would be great. Thanks Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5295Sep 02, 2013 1:40 pm I was approached by shutter/blinds people through WH. They have a master key and am going into my place now after lockup to get a better quote. Has anyone used them already. They are called betterviewblinds. Also any suggestions on some reasonably priced shutter companies that anyone has used would be greatly appreciated... thank you Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5296Sep 02, 2013 2:42 pm Izzysyd, is this something that wisdom is charging or council. Is your driveway set back on your land and just not in line with your house. What do they have to do to rectify this? Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5297Sep 02, 2013 2:43 pm Has anyone used choc tan boral bricks and if so do they look nice and are you happy with them. Pics if possible. Thanks Hi Izzysyd I'm charged the same $750 as well. I've no idea what dirt is left to cart away since my lot is flat as ever. As for the driveway not in line with the house, perhaps u can walk down the street and identify which lot started this discrepancy. then tell the builder to pay up. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5299Sep 02, 2013 3:26 pm wayneratters Izzysyd, is this something that wisdom is charging or council. Is your driveway set back on your land and just not in line with your house. What do they have to do to rectify this? Hi Wayneratters, The driveway is not in line with my house and too wide, apparently the single garage driveways have to be only 3 metres long according to WH... My plans show it was in line and just the right size.... I've now got to pay for them to cut on either side of the entry part of the driveway and fill one side and open up the other to line it up with my house.... apparently they have had to do this for all of the properties on Hoy Street... Its really annoying as you would think that the council would know where every lot was situated, this is why I had to have my garage on the right hand side to begin with because the council had already added in the driveway entries... Hi 0dark30 All the earlier builds further up have had their driveways already done so hard now to tell where its happened. The builder also mentioned that it could be that the developer has squeezed in some extra land... so annoying. As for the 750 per 13 tonne truck, I'll see if I can get someone external to pick up the dirt as I really cant see much dirt being taken out - I've only got a single car garage and the land is flat to the curb! If it was me, I would tee up a few driveways and use the same truck for all of them... save your customers some money would be nice at the end considering they have just given you their life savings...
