Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5083Apr 22, 2014 12:26 pm Hi All, A great forum! We are going to build the Milano 46 but are concerned at the reduced size in the Master Suite (3930 X 5200). We have a King bed and our current home length is 3300 so more room would be nice. We are now considering going to the Milano 48 to get more space (4300 x 5500). Appreciate any comments from anyone who has built Milano 46 or 48 and your thoughts.... Milano is a great design. We are building 51. In my view, if you have space go for a bigger one. I found 46 was too narrow for my liking. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5085Apr 22, 2014 5:46 pm Thanks so much for the response. Our budget will not stretch to the 51 - we also really like the Sorrento but options to place Shower in Powder mean you loose the Butler's Pantry or you need to create a second Master Suite and loose the Lounge. We are going to be putting the extra Alfresco on the Milano and an extra 1 to 1.5M to the garage Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5086Apr 22, 2014 6:29 pm Drove pass our block today as I usually do not expecting anything till later in the week and.... We are currently building the Milano 46. The 51 wouldn't fit on our block and overall the 46 was a better design for us anyway. Did you know queen beds and king beds are the same length. The king is wider only. I have been to the house and in my opinion the bedroom is big enough. It is very wide and while not as long as the 51 it is ample. I have calculated there will be a space of 1.9 meters between the end of the king bed and the wall. The 51 master bedroom is huge and did you notice at the displays they have a big box at the end of the bed and still plenty of room. The 46 has more storage in the WIR and 2 entrances. The other size reduction compared to the 51 is the living room and the hallway. Big hallways are a waste of space in my opinion. Sure they look grand but I'd rather space allocated to other areas. The alfresvo is also smaller but we are adding a pool room alfresco post handover so this wasn't an issue. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5089Apr 22, 2014 10:49 pm Has anyone removed the flooring to their house if you got a free flooring pack as part of a promo? If so, how much were you credited back? [sneakersss] Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5090Apr 23, 2014 6:55 am Tabby Thanks so much for the response. I want to extend the garage by 3m but lets see how much we can fit on the block. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5091Apr 23, 2014 8:12 am I am interested in any comments on Affinity Double Storey Facades. We are building a Milano. It appears that some facades such as Logan are in the House book but not online and also that it may change the cladding upstairs or size of balcony. We saw a Logan being built that has mostly brickwork upstairs instead of lightweight cladding. When I asked about having bricks rather than lightweight cladding on the Jamison Façade I was told no. All the free facades are light weight cladding all around the top 1/4 of the house. Free facades from memory are: Jameson, Bryson & Thornton. The other paid for facades have light weight cladding also but not around the whole house. Just in certain areas like above the garage and back wall of house. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5093Apr 23, 2014 1:25 pm Hey all, Im new to the forum, I was wondering did anybody went with carlisles land &house package and can tell me more about it. thanks in advance viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77699 House Deposit : 13th June C. Im hoping to get to major carpets to check out the range in more detail rather than that small square sample at spectra. I am not too keen on the indented square patterns that almost all the cat 1 range has. Not keen on the plush look either as my wife is obsessed with not seeing footprints on carpet when you walk on it. On the major carpets web site it has a list of the different carpet types but not sure if these are all available in the cat 1 range? Anyone know lots on the carpet types and whats on offer at cat 1? The only upgrade i want to look at with carpet is the underlay which I will go to cat 3 on. The rest id like to keep pretty standard. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5095Apr 23, 2014 6:10 pm The biggest advice I give for carpet is to upgrade underlay, our previous build with Carlisle resulted in an upgrade to both underlay and the next category of carpet. It seems like another cost but the flooring will last longer and its cheaper and easier than a complete re-carpet later. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5096Apr 23, 2014 6:17 pm Does anyone have advice in regard to the provided facades with lightweight cladding vs paying extra to have a different façade and brick from two storey Affinity. Am considering Hardwick and Houston. I love render as we have it now but Brick is permanent and does not require painting in years to come in high places as render will on the two storey - also I feel that brick has more strength - in terms of an external finish. I appreciate the actual strength is from the frame not the brick veneer but overall attracted to brick because its permanent. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5097Apr 23, 2014 7:52 pm Our site is being cut tomorrow ahead of schedule. We were originally told 2 May (last month). It's very nice to be 8 days ahead of schedule as you normally only hear stories about delays. It's 6 months yesterday since we signed our sales contract, and therefore it's been a slow road getting here, but where finally here now. We always knew it would take at least 6 months so I'm very excited, that the paper part is in the past and the results part is here. We had our site cut yesterday, only 2 days ahead of schedule and we deposited almost 6 months ago. It's so exciting good luck with it all. Our slab is not scheduled to be poured until the 9th may which still feels like forever away Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5099Apr 23, 2014 7:58 pm You might get it sooner. We were told it would happen a few days after the cut and it's also been moved up a week. I am building with CH Affinity range and am being offered the "Celebrating 10 years" promotion pack. I just have had my colour selection done recently and I was told I can only have two TV points from Telstra Velocity basic pack that I will have to pay. Unfortunately, I am building in the Telsta "smart" community. As part of the "Celebrating 10 years" promotion pack I should get another two TV points from CH. However, I was told I won't get the two TV points from CH. Did it happen to anyone building with CH and "Celebrating 10 years" promotion pack. If it did, did you get credit back from CH for two TV points? Your feedbacks are most welcome. Thanks in advance. 0 5238 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6604 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14598 |
