Our contract is up in 3 weeks and we all know that this means nothing. We have seeked legal advise and are in the process of making a complaint to the HIA. We have also booked in to have an independent building assessment done as we don't trust this mob.
The latest from them was an invoice which was not itemised for more money!!!! It was for site works that was done over 12 months ago. This is not acceptable.
This company is taking over our lives. For something that should of been a happy experience has turned into a nightmare and I feel will only get worse.
I hope that everyone get there houses finished to standard without too many more delays.
Sorry rant over

Hi Charlotte33, I received a similar invoice last week for site works over 6 months old. The skeptic in me says that they're cash flow is not good and they are trying to raise capital as quickly as they can, but it may not be the case.
You need to make an appointment ASAP with Freelife to view the invoices they have for the site works. If you don't believe that it's a reasonable claim, a complaint must be lodged with the building commission within 10 days. Note: For most complaints you have to issue a Notice of Proposed Complaint to the builder 14 days before you lodge the comlaint --- This is not the case with variation and invoice disputes. It must be received by the B.C. within 10 days (use email to ensure it makes it within that period).
The Buidling Commission has the authority to assess that validity of the charges (which are inclusive of the builder's margin) and to arbitrate accordingly.
I invite any "silent' watchers of this thread to speak up and join the chorus.
I didn't know that! Thanks for the useful info in this frustrating situation
