Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Henderson 42 461May 27, 2017 8:21 am That really sux, hopefully they sort themselves out. I've still got a list of outstanding issues after moving in so we will see how long it takes for them to fix them. Metricon Henderson 42 462May 27, 2017 11:42 am M and T So we had a meeting on site this week and was reassured presentation would be fine for 30th May. Very disappointed to come up with a list of 32 issues requiring rectification before presentation. Also was informed yet again that our current site supervisor has resigned. Apparently we have someone named Chris taking over. For those of you just tuning in I'm onto site supervisor # 4, construction manager # 3 and I've lost count of our office contacts. Our construction manager then called us today to advise he won't have everything ready for presentation. My husband lost it and told him to get everything sorted as they've had more than enough time to fix things. Some of the ridiculous things requiring fixing... Timber floorboards only cover 3/4 of the area under the stairs. They clearly ran out and hoped we wouldn't notice. Months later our timber stackers still scrape against each other every time they're opened and damage the paintwork. This was pointed out 6 months ago and still not fixed. Still no downlights on the stairs months after our electrical appt. The polyurethane panel on our integrated dishwasher is unsymmetrical. Water meter is still in the path of my driveway. Various other minor issues. Construction manager and previous site supervisor kept saying that we can handover with all these issues but if they can't get the tradies to come out and fix these things now they'll take months to come out once we've moved in. I'll be interested to see how many things they can resolve before Tuesday's presentation. Totally over this build! Welcome to our new Metricon Henderson http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978 https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.com Awww M n T. I feel for you. We invest so much of our time and money into our builds and the least they can do is be @ least 95% correct!!! We're in the same situation still waiting on our SM to send his checklist through. Always a delay after a Darbecca inspection. We have no handover date because we want certain jobs to be fixed before we budge. Minor issues but Main ones being roof, down pipe and gutter work just tradies with a "no care factor" external touch ups I'm happy to leave afterwards. I also hope they don't rush these fixes!!!! Hoping our issues get done in 2 weeks, it's possible if tradies are at our houses everyday. I wish you all the best and hope they fix it before handover and all your issues disappear so you never have to deal with them again for a very long time or never again Re: Metricon Henderson 42 463May 27, 2017 11:54 am Your home is looking fantastic, despite the issues (unfortunately we all have them...but I'm sure they'll get it all organised!) Re: Metricon Henderson 42 467May 27, 2017 2:55 pm Feel sorry for you, I really know your paid. We are currently about 115 days overdue and still when they fix things they don't fix all of them. Not really, in a state of flux at the moment - need to contact our construction manager for some details. You truly do have a beautiful home. They're probably struggling because it's their first time having to build such a stunning build as yours Thank you all it is very reassuring to be on this forum. It's like having your own cheer squad. I must try and be more positive! On a happier note our garage door is getting painted on Tuesday on our presentation date so looking forward to having it match the rest of our facade. Will post lots of photos next week. I was wondering whether I am being too picky over our integrated dishwasher. Can anyone see something not quite right in the pics below? Not too picky at all! Re: Metricon Henderson 42 471May 27, 2017 11:37 pm Yep and something seems strange with the "inside" border. On the top draw it's wider on top and skinnier on bottom, whereas on the bottom draw it's the other way around. But I think the most obvious thing is the gap between the two drawers. You're not being too picky at all. If it bothers you now, it will bother you later! Looking forward to more pics next week - yay! Regarding the gap between drawers. Dishwasher panels for built ins can be very tricky to fit so it's not the worst job I've seen. You probably want a small gap between drawers so there is a bit of wiggle room between them I think. Metricon Henderson 42 473May 28, 2017 9:13 am M&T Stay positive as the journey is almost over. I am so jealous of the profile shaker doors. You probably want a small gap between drawers so there is a bit of wiggle room between them I think. Luckily they are the same colour thank goodness otherwise I'd be really upset! No it's just the gap, knobs and profile that are bothering me but apparently the gap is necessary and an installation requirement. The profile is also apparently intentional and although the knobs appear to be positioned in different spots on each panel apparently they are the exact same distance from the top of each panel, the odd profile just creates the illusion that the knobs are spaced differently. Oh well I guess I have to pick my battles and let this one go. On a brighter note my Surfmist garage door was spray painted this morning with a 2 PAC polyurethane Dulux colour and looks amazing!!! It totally matches the rest of the facade Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Welcome to our new Metricon Henderson http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978 https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.com Re: Metricon Henderson 42 476May 30, 2017 10:45 pm Facade is just stunning! Fair enough if it has to have a gap but at least have the profile and knobs matching!!!
