What do you clean your walls with!! Ha ha, how did that happen. Sorry!! The old thread is now locked, but this was it. viewtopic.php?f=36&t=57698 No wall cleaning to be seen!! Re: SunshineT's Build: passed inspection $3k bond back 4363Mar 08, 2013 9:23 pm So.... Zen came a few days ago to check out the water in patio ceiling. Not sure exactly what is causing it yet, but at least they are on to it. But key reminder - in talking about what may have caused it I asked if they wanted to have a look at the build photos with waterproofing. Luckily I had a few which were super helpful of the waterproofing up the poles but not on the sides of the floor. Anyway, they weren't amazing photos as I hadn't actually taken them deliberately of the waterproofing, more of the views from the room at that particular stage. So a reminder that photos photos photos are essential during a build to look back at in the future if any house issues. The same happened with DH's photos of electricals which have been referred to numerous times already (when we had the hot water issues at hand-over and again when DH has installed things on the walls). Can never take enough photos, eh?! I vowed I wouldn't disappear after I moved in, but inevitably back-to-reality kicks in. I do still pop in from time to time though... Hey T, hope everything gets sorted with the leaky roof, very annoying, but hopefully an easy fix. What grout are you changing?? I to have been missing a bit, (busy with other stuff) I keep wanting to wait till everything is finished to post final photos but with a few issues with outside, everything just seems to be dragging on. Very close though and we will be done, just need to be in the country. Re: SunshineT's Build: passed inspection $3k bond back 4368Mar 13, 2013 8:48 pm Hi gogo! Grout - we aren't actually changing the grout. Just going to colour paint over the existing grout as it is white in patches with charcoal floor tiles (just the bathroom floor tiles). Does that make sense? How was your holiday? Grout - we aren't actually changing the grout. Just going to colour paint over the existing grout as it is white in patches with charcoal floor tiles (just the bathroom floor tiles). Does that make sense? How was your holiday? Yeah that makes sense, we have grey grout in our ensuite, so it matches the dark floor tiles, everywhere else we also had some sort of dusty build up that I tried tomscrib out with some success. Good idea to seal your tiles, especially the bathroom ones, as they did seem very porous! Still on holidays at the moment Re: SunshineT's Build: passed inspection $3k bond back 4371Mar 14, 2013 5:08 am Ryan, we r still looking around for suitable product, but most likely a grout pen or thus paint product from a company called Aqua something or rather. Our couch cleaners recommended them and I looked them up online, their site even had video demonstrations on how to apply. Lots of colours too. About 5 versions of grey, and i just thought we wanted charcoal, which made me think i need to see them in person and try samples. Time time. They are located in the Northern beaches. The couch cleaners can clean and the seal our tiles for us, around $500, so when we get so some time to get organized that is the plan. With the white patches on the charcoal grout do they seem to go away when the grout is wet? I have similar sounding problem with my bathroom floor tiles and initially thought it was either plaster dust or just needed a good wash/scrub but have come to realise that its probably a white haze from the white wall grout. Long story short, I think we're going to try and use a wet look grout sealer to avoid the need to redo the grout as the grout looks fine when its wet. Maybe I could get your contacts to do it as its been on our to-do list forever! xx Never argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level & then beat you with experience - Dilbert View Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19733 Contract signed 14Sept Slab 30Sept Bricks laid 1Dec Lock up 26Feb Keys 10Jun Fig Landscapes has produced an e-book and native plant index, available for purchase from their website.
