Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley 421Mar 30, 2015 6:40 pm Found a discrepancy between contract and final drawings today . the butlers pantry and powder room doors are 720mm in the drawings but 820mm in the contract. One more thing to bring up with admin. But bigger concern is the water point as I'm afraid it will block the pantry door. I think we'll have to get this done now Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley Re: Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley 422Mar 30, 2015 6:40 pm Ilaeria Awesome! What colour is your roof Izzyb? Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley Ah cool that's what we're getting too, looks great! Shame about the water point, is it a building code requirement or something that it can't be recessed like we can do here in QLD? Mmmmm Re: Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley 426Mar 30, 2015 11:16 pm Izzyb Just wondering because the sarking appears to be in direct contact with the colourbond roof won't the condensation just pass through it? Should there be room in between the sarking and the colourbond roof so there is no contact point? Similar to how insulation in the external walls shouldn't be in contact with the foil wrap as well to prevent moisture transfer and hence mould? Isn't that why insulation is installed with strings to hold it back so it doesn't contact the external layer? Purely my opinion but i would have thought sarking installed over roof frame then metal roof beams than roof would be a better way to install it. But then again i have nothing to back this up and looking up bluescope steel website didn't find anything clear cut. I presume Henley know what they're doing though. Apart from nice roof and fast progress! Curious to know peoples opinion on light coloured roofs? Meant to be better from a heating/cooling aspect. Aesthetically nice and clean look i think but obviously subject to personal taste. Would it affect how much you would pay for a house? Re: Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley 433Mar 31, 2015 8:48 am Yea our sarking is installed exactly like yours so I think we both should be ok...
