Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 401Jan 19, 2017 10:29 am Beac, so you're gonna land up with the invoices prior to your vacation? That should be fun. I drove by our house yesterday and saw the main door has been delivered, along with gyprock sheets, so i suppose plastering will begin soon. Between, do you know when the air-conditioning ducts are laid? It should happen prior to plastering, but i havent seen that being done as yet. Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 402Jan 19, 2017 10:54 am I know it also makes me wonder how far we are from practical completion. Painting is going to start next week apparently. From memory the air cond was done after frames, before the plasterboards went up. Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 403Jan 19, 2017 11:03 am Yeah you're seriously flying along! Gonna set a new record for double story build time. Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 404Jan 19, 2017 11:25 am dulie Yeah you're seriously flying along! Gonna set a new record for double story build time. I was tempted to ask him a rough date for practical completion but I was a bit scared to find out I don't know if I'm ready to move just yet. We haven't even decided what to do with our current house... House look almost done! What colour grout did you get with the main floor tiles? Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 409Jan 20, 2017 10:01 pm Hi Beac, I've just had a read through your whole thread (took awhile phew!) and its so nice seeing another narrower lot build (our block is 12.62m frontage). You've got completely different taste to me but I absolutely LOVE all your choices, everything looks great and like it's coming together beautifully! What colour grout did you get with the main floor tiles? It's a silver/grey. Wanted white but tile studio didn't allow white grouts on floors. Your block is much wider than ours we wouldn't have been able to build a single storey. Your colour selections look great! I was torn between greys or browns but decided on the latter because hubby prefers warm colours. Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 413Jan 20, 2017 10:41 pm mantra29 It's really exciting when so much happens all at once! Indeed. Hubby was disappointed the cladding wasn't up though. He has been hoping to see them go up before we leave on our 2 week holiday. I was torn between greys or browns but decided on the latter because hubby prefers warm colours. We went warmer tones in our first build but I was wanting the really light, airy Hamptons feel to the house so went with warm greys and lots of crisp white to set it off. Hopefully it looks how I envision in my mind when they start getting our place together Follow our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura Group): viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85122 Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 415Jan 21, 2017 7:14 am Panty floor tiles look so much better!
