Sorry Shalee. It was actually $440 per inspection. Not sure what I was on about yesterday.
You're lucky you could even get to Boutique yesterday with parts of the Yarra breaking is banks.

Thanks Aussie, Yes, $440 seems about the average rate that we have found so far. Although one place quoted us $410 per inspection if we booked all 5 stages. We are just trying to decide how many to have & which ones. Yes, we were fortunate, the weather was pretty horrible yesterday & at one stage we had an extra hour added to our trip through delays on the Tullamarine freeway & we looked like we would arrive over half an hour late even though we had allowed extra time. Fortunately, thanks to the GPS we found an alternate route & arrived on time. After waiting for 5 weeks I certainly didn't want to cancel & wait for another appointment. Boutique Homes 403Jun 27, 2014 12:20 pm fruitlubes charlie01 I'm jealous fruitlubes and Bandha. We were expecting to hear our start date this week but we've had nothing except an invite to a customer satisfaction survey. I'm sure you get a call soon... it is a new week.. so I'm sure they will be starting many more this week and yours will be one of them - Good Luck Well you were right! We heard today that building starts next Friday 4 July 2014. WooHoo!! We've been assigned a Site Supervisor and can expect fortnightly updates. However, the block is just around the corner so we'll be keeping a close eye on progress. Looks like a few of us will be kicking off at similar times frames, so will be interesting to compare how we are all progressing. Re: Boutique Homes 405Jun 27, 2014 4:33 pm Congrats to all who are starting their build. Sounds very exciting! We are still waiting for our Addenda 6 weeks on from our Colour Appointment so hope to receive it soon. I am not sure when we will be booked in for the Building contract but our Pre-start consultant seems to be too busy to answer emails and it's usually weeks before we hear back from her. Aussie - that pink colour does look awful and glad that you managed to get it checked and changed. Great to hear that everyone is progressing well. Re: Boutique Homes 406Jun 27, 2014 4:36 pm That seems to be normal procedure Theon. Excited and nervous for the next stage in the process. Our land isnt due to title until early next year so it will be a bit of a wait but cant wait! Thanks for everyones help Re: Boutique Homes 409Jun 30, 2014 1:34 pm This thread is getting more and more new home builders. Good to see. We got the keys on Friday. It wasnt the smoothest day with the bank leaving us rushing around Melbourne branches late in the day to collect our final payment, but we got there in the end. House is a mess at the moment with a rather wet weekend and lots of mud carted through the place from us moving. I've spent a couple of nights in there with our 2 dogs but the wife is still living at the old place while there is no heating, hot water, TV antenna, appliances etc... A cold shower this morning was very tough. I'll try and update on here over the next couple of months, and answer any general questions about the building process. I might even try and load some pictures when we get NBN connected later in the week. Certainly wasnt the nicest time of our lives dealing with the company but glad we're in control of the place now and we can make it our own. Our land isnt due to title until early next year so it will be a bit of a wait but cant wait! Thanks for everyones help Congrats banehouse.. that's exciting news.. It will come sooner than you know it Aussie Assault We got the keys on Friday. It wasnt the smoothest day with the bank leaving us rushing around Melbourne branches late in the day to collect our final payment, but we got there in the end. Congratulations on the keys Aussie Assult.. hopefully you won't have to wait to long for the appliances and heating to come in and work.. It is now the begining of your beautiful new home.. Oh and I forgot to mention.. site scrape done on friday and all the temporary fencing is now up.. they have even delivered our bricks.. which is weird.. but oh well.. I guess its there when they're ready.. SS called today to introduce himself.. which is great.. told me the expected timelines of the slab and frame start.. so far so good.. just fingers crossed it stays that way Re: Boutique Homes 411Jul 01, 2014 10:58 pm Congrats Aussie. Does the pink debacle result in you actually getting a free upgrade to a 3 coat finish? My building permit cam through today so signing off on the final plans tomorrow & they hand me over to the build team & give me a start date. It should be next week. I was amazed at the amount of engineering detail in the building permit, none of which I'd ever seen before. Shalee - I've been talking to Housespect Victoria. They seem quite good, similar rates. Each of the 5 stages is a slightly different price, depending on complexity, if you do the 5 stage package deal it's $2K. Monty - I'm building in Curlewis, so I'll probably get the same SS as Ocean Grove. Should get a name this week. Re: Boutique Homes 412Jul 02, 2014 1:36 pm Bandha Congrats Aussie. Does the pink debacle result in you actually getting a free upgrade to a 3 coat finish? Yep sure does. We joked with the site supervisor about that, so it is 1 positive to come out of it I guess. Re: Boutique Homes 413Jul 03, 2014 10:42 am Appliance day today for us, along with TV connection & internet connection. The day hasnt started well. -NBN conduit was blocked, so our service provider cannot do it today and now have to wait another 2 weeks. Boutique will hopefully rectify today, but means we have to go through the whole rebooking side of things again. In a subdivision that has terrible telephone reception and no data connection via mobile even with Telstra, as well as myself needing a decent connection for work purposes, the internet is our connection to the outside world! Very frustrating. -The stove cooktop they brought to install was wrong. We asked a wok top, not the long fish burner, so guess which one they bought. Our addenda confirms this, and if they dont care which one they bring out, I'm not sure why they even give you the option on colour's day. These might sound like small issues, but we've already had to take a day off work to collect keys, another day off today for my wife (who keeps ringing me relaying these issues), I'm off tomorrow for the gas & electrical commission... And now we're going to have to take more time off to have the internet installed again, and the stovetop replaced. Other than that we've had a few days in our place. Starting to organise ourselves a bit and set it up as we want. Its been a bit hard given we've still been living between 2 places without the hot water, heating, appliances etc installed until today, but we're getting there. We had a leak at the water main that was fixed this morning when the plumber was onsite and one of our garage remotes is not working but everything else is going ok, fingers crossed. Re: Boutique Homes 414Jul 03, 2014 1:40 pm New stovetop will take a month to deliver so we've told them we'll be keeping the incorrect one until then so we can at least cook on it. Also with our dishwasher and fridge being integrated into the cupboards they forgot to order a door for the dishwasher. It is still usable but isnt obviously complete until the new door arrives that they've ordered today. So what we've found today is that the appliances are straight forward as we were advised, and really is not surprising at all to have problems given our time with Boutique. Re: Boutique Homes 415Jul 03, 2014 6:43 pm Wow Aussie, just painful. I'm in IT & knowing the hoops we have to jump through in Change Mgt meetings to prove we've carefully prepared & got everything in place before we're allowed near production systems - just a huge gulf between standards in that world & home builders (& of course, there are quite a few much worse than Boutique). Let's hope they haven't ordered a pink door for your dishwasher Re: Boutique Homes 416Jul 04, 2014 2:49 pm True to their word, Boutique started the build today. A big digger is onsite cutting the block. Yay! Well I got good news & bad news from Boutique today. Good news is they intend starting next Thursday. Bad news is that a build has flown up on my neighbour's block (it was bare last visit about a month ago) and their builder has dumped loads of soil & fencing on my block. Obviously Boutique will defer their start until I can get them to clean it up, which isn't so easy when I'm 80km away. Feeling pretty grumpy about it, when I should be celebrating getting a start date. Monty - looks like we've got the same SS. Re: Boutique Homes 419Jul 04, 2014 7:38 pm So the our integrated fridge was supposed to be installed today for the 2nd day of appliance installations. No one showed up. I rang our site supervisor who gave me donuts and said he'd get back me. This was before lunch. Sat home for the rest of the day waiting, waiting, waiting. No call back, no one to install the fridge so its in the middle of the living room where it was left from yesterday. We called the office and emailed them demanding answers about mid afternoon who advised that they would get someone to call back not long after. Didnt hear a thing from them. They are an absolutely pathetic excuse for a company and by far the worst we've ever dealt with in any industry.. I took the day off work to essentially watch a guy clean our driveway from the company who advised us he'll be back later to seal it. Guess what? We never saw him again. I am so angry with the company today probably more than any other time and that is saying something given the "fun" we've had with them. Re: Boutique Homes 420Jul 05, 2014 10:13 am On the way Charlie, well done.
