So the house is sitting dormant now. Someone dropped the ball with the roofers and they're now not available to start until Tuesday next week. It's so frustrating to go a whole week with nothing happening so early on. This is the part that supposed to be really fast, lol. I can feel any chance of being in by Christmas most definitely slipping away.

This has been our whole build. Days and/or weeks of no progress, its killing me! I hope this is the only instance of it for you guys and they smash out the rest.

Well actually, i am pleased to see a little action on site today. Although the roofers aren't available until next Tuesday, the builder has managed to get someone here to put all the batons on in preparation. It's not huge, but i guess it gives the roofers a little bit of a head start.

Here's to some progress!! We have thought of living in a shed till our house was built but council here didn't allow it! I'm sure it would have pushed me to the brink too as it was going to be winter. Lucky you can be outside digging, hard yakka by the sounds of it. Yeah definitely put a picture up 😂😂

Will show hubby your pics, we will be doing it the other way around and putting the shed in after the house is finished. Great idea to have a play area near the kids rooms, we did the same thing. Will be following with much interest

Thanks Saz. We had a rumpus room in our last house on the opposite side of the hallway to the kids rooms, and it just didn't get used. Hoping that by having it connected to the kids rooms they will use it more.

Fingers crossed! Ours is a space right outside their bedrooms so hopefully as they have to walk through it they will hang out in it anyway.

Is the next stage for yours the wrap?

The gutters and fascias are next. Then the roof goes on, then they come back and wrap and windows and prep interior frames for plaster. The bricks go on after that before they start the plastering..... I think that's how it goes, lol.

Gutters and fascias are done. Roof goes on tomorrow. Can't wait to see the bricks go up. Should be next week sometime. Then it will all be coming together. I'm really nervous about the surfmist fascias. Last time we went monument gutters and fascias. This time because we're having eclipse bricks, i thought it would be nice to break up the dark roof and dark bricks with the surfmist fascias, then matching surfmist windows and front door. But seeing it just gutters and fascias I'm not so sure. Freaking out a little that it's just going to look awful.

Windows are here ready for install. And my pendants for over the kitchen bench arrived at work yesterday while i was working at another site, was so excited when i walked into work this morning and saw them. Woo hoo. I spoke to my builder today, and they said our build is one they are planning to have completed prior to the Christmas break, but anything could happen between now and then so they can't promise it. But it was still nice to know that they're aiming for it, we have some hope, lol. Have you sussed out your builder about whether or not they think handover will be before Christmas to align with your rental?

Thanks Saz. I am hoping it makes more sense with the roof on (monument the same as the gutters) so that the gutters don't look so tiny, lol.

We are all aiming for before Christmas. They have been going great guns and we are only 3 weeks in. The owners offically choose a real estate agent and it will be on the market middle of next month. So praying to the gods everything falls in place. Our shipping container arrives tomorrow to pack up all the unnecessary items from the current house.

Hubby sent me some progress shots of the roof, since i don't get to see it until i get home from work tonight. Looks nearly done, just ridges and valleys to go in the pics. He just sent me a text saying valleys are now done, just ridges to go, so I'd say they'll have it all done today. Colourbond is pretty fast ey? We weren't even given a choice between colourbond or tiles, but would've stuck with colourbond anyway. And i am now loving the surfmist fascias.

Yes, we had the choice but also went colourbond. We went with Mangrove. Glad to see it's super fast - another upside! Brilliant that you love the surfmist now
