Browse Forums Building A New House Re: our first home group wa home 41Mar 03, 2016 11:13 pm So i just went back through paperwork and turns out i have semi floating cabinets throughout for no additional cost. Pretty stocked about that Re: our first home group wa home 49Mar 15, 2016 10:36 pm I just realised I haven't commented on your post yet - thats a nice big house you have! Did you end up putting your kitchen bench in at prestart? Lots of bedrooms - have you got lots of kids? Adds up so quickly, definitely got a shock. 17k went just like that but hubby wanted most of it so if he is happy so am i. Stupid things like a fake handle for the double doors i mean wtf, why would every door not come standard with a handle. Just stupid **** like that. Oh and the draw handles, that actually ** me off. So they let you have the small one included but any other size you pay so if i didnt want to pay each 800mm draw would have a **** tiny handle. Yer like that would work, so of course we had to get longer handles for the draws. Sometimes i think we would have been better staying with 101 at least everything was including including stone throughout and soft closing on every draw and cupboard but oh well. Have to admit they have hurried us along quiet quickly which im very thankful for Re: our first home group wa home 51Mar 16, 2016 1:15 pm We put in semi floating vanities in all the bathrooms but they charged us for it. So well done. Our plant is still going strong hopefully that's a good sign. We haven't been to our block for a while. Going tomorrow hoping a lot of the brickwork will be done. Yes it's a pain about the cupboard handles. Every little thing costs more money!!hope things move along quickly for you. Re: our first home group wa home 52Mar 16, 2016 3:18 pm Oh really thats not cool about semi floating. I was very surprised they didnt charge us. Pretty excited just got final docos in the mail to sign and send back. Waiting for hubby to get home so we can sign and ill post them later this arvo. Hopefully this means they can move us into construction alot quicker than we anticipated Re: our first home group wa home 53Mar 16, 2016 6:54 pm Recieved final docs today, signed and express posted them back so fingers crossed we get an awesome email saying everything is final and they can progress to building. How long roughly before everyone had something happen from time final docs were signed off Re: our first home group wa homes 54Mar 16, 2016 8:01 pm Hi jasmine, depending on how much your builders admin dept moves behind the scenes it can happen quickly or slowly.... I think they'll need to get structural compliance and building permits, then trades can be scheduled. Ours was a slow process compared to others, as our builder would not "move ahead" in the process until the previous was 100% perfect, so when we were waiting on the titles to be re issued in our name (even though we had proof of settlement for them) they wouldn't submit for structural compliance or council permits which drew the process out longer than we expected. For us, we did prestart late last year, while we were waiting on titles. Once land was titled and settled, it took another 3 weeks for the titles to be reissued in our name (over Xmas shutdown too.... So more like 5 weeks) From that point, our builder went for MRA approval (you may or may not need MRA approval, depends if they are involved in all the council estate planning and development - city of Armadale was for us), structural compliance and building permit. Those permits took another 2 weeks, and then they moved us to scheduling of trades, that took 2 weeks and now we're just starting site works. So from "final plans" at the end of prestart, it took us 3.5-4 months to when there was any physical works on our block. (Factor in approx 3 weeks due to Xmas/New Years shutdown) P.s. Following your build Re: our first home group wa home 55Mar 17, 2016 10:23 am Oh cool thank you, gives me a rough idea on timeframe Re: our first home group wa home 57Mar 17, 2016 3:08 pm Awesome thats probably about the timeframe they gave us actually so hopefully they have no delays Re: our first home group wa home 59Mar 25, 2016 2:57 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Omg we have a tap. Im so bloody excited. On another note my neighbours have been dumpings their lawn clippings on my block, not happy at all. He owns a lawn mowing business. What makes hime think he has the right is beyond me but if he keeps doing it once pad goes does we wont start out to well as neighbours 4 15621 Soak wells and electrical run in happening this week! Summit has told me they will relocate the laundry plumbing after the walls are completed. I'm actually pretty happy… 13 36694 Cant give recommendations in general with that builder, but during the colour selection, this is honestly personal preference. Depends on the style you want. Do you want… 1 542 |
