Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Whiteman Edge - Blueprint Homes 41Apr 22, 2015 1:40 pm Bricks were loaded to site on Monday. Portable loo, shed, sand and brickie scaffolding tools have all been delivered. The only thing missing are the window frames. I thought that will be the 1st few items to be dlv. Im guessing without window frames brickie can't commence. They were originally scheduled to start yesterday. We shall go for a drive after work today to check if window frames are delivered. Re: Whiteman Edge - Blueprint Homes 42Apr 22, 2015 2:05 pm Congrats! Looks like you are going to see some action soon on the site! We are now over budget but trying to work out a compromise with them. Bit disappointing really but hopefully we can come to an agreement. We got the costs in writing before we went to prestart so hopefully that counts for something. Stand by. Since everything is in writing, I hope they honour those prices for you. Re: Whiteman Edge - Blueprint Homes 47Apr 25, 2015 9:07 pm Hi DanW2014, Thats good to hear (about the compromise). I have been collating a lot of different quotes from my sales rep. Hopefully, that would be more accurate. I am waiting for upgrade cost to essastone. Let's hope that comes back rather quickly. Another question, when did you had to pay for the additional expenditure in prestart? I am thinking of increasing my pre start allowance in my contract so that the prestart cost are spread across the progress payments. Building at Bletchley Park, WA with Blue Print Homes Re: Whiteman Edge - Blueprint Homes 48Apr 29, 2015 11:23 am Brickwork officially started last Friday woohoo. Due to long weekend not much have been done. So far only single row of bricks around the slab and they have set up all the windows and door on the outskirt. Will post some pics when we have decent amount of brick works done Another exciting news tomorrow morning we are having site meeting with our SS as part of meet and greet. Any tips on questions i should be asking SS will be appreciated. Re: Whiteman Edge - Blueprint Homes 49Apr 29, 2015 11:24 am alibaba11 Hi DanW2014, Thats good to hear (about the compromise). Alibaba11 all additional prestart costing have to be paid before they go to scheduling. Basically asap once you've confirmed all your prestart costing and sign off on the final paperwork. Re: Whiteman Edge - Blueprint Homes 51Apr 30, 2015 2:47 pm Met with SS earlier this morning. He seems really great and know what he is doing. Has been in the industry for almost 10 yrs. He advised he is aiming for 22 weeks build time since slab. We're not holding too much on that since the build will be over the winter period. If he does deliver it will be fantastic. Also met with our brickie. Its a 1 man show. Apparently he has an apprentice but is currently MIA. He reckon it will take him 3-4 weeks to complete. Hopefully we reach plate height by end of May. Re: Whiteman Edge - Blueprint Homes 52May 24, 2015 9:18 pm Hi Lady_Zu, We're also building with Blueprint. It looks like we're about 3 months behind you in the process. We went to scheduling at the start of last week, and we were told the process should take a relatively quick 3.5 weeks. We're hoping to have a slab down by the end of June, fingers crossed. If we follow your timeline we might just get there. We're currently living in Vic and moving to WA at the start of August. It looks like you met with your site supervisor about a month after the slab went down. If that's the case for us, we may not quite be in Perth by then. Were you given any choice in the meeting time with the SS? We're hoping to be into our house by Christmas, so we'll be keenly following your progress! It must be hard on you to be building from far. Hope you have someone in Perth to keep an eye on your build. Whereabouts are you building? Things will progress quite quickly once scheduling complete. It took us about 4 weeks in scheduling. The meeting with SS is just part of meet and greet. I'm sure you can organise once you're in Perth. We push for it once brick work commence as we will really like to meet the SS. There are some other builders who organise their meeting with SS once they reach plate height. Re: Whiteman Edge - Blueprint Homes 54May 27, 2015 12:17 am We are now in the 5th week of brickwork. It's progressing well but slightly on the slow side as we only have 1 brickie working. To make things worst couple of times he had to leave our place to fix errors made by other brickies in other houses. So far we have been happy with his quality of work. Fingers crossed he advised we should reach plate height by this Friday or latest next Monday. Can't wait for it. Will post some pictures once it's all up. After looking through the plans again I'm kicking myself for not picking up these issues prior to signing the contract. Can someone please advise what are your kitchen cabinets height as well as your ensuite/bathroom cabinets height? I've just noticed ours is at 900mm in the kitchen. Is that the standard? As for ensuite and bathroom its at 810mm which I think it's very low. It's lower than our current place cabinet height. Re: Whiteman Edge - Blueprint Homes 55May 31, 2015 12:46 pm Brickwork is now 99% complete. The only thing left is the alfresco pillar. We will officially reach plate height on Tuesday woohoo. Since than we had roof timber, fascia, eaves, garage & alfresco ceiling installed. Went by today, all electrical wiring have also been completed in the past 2 days. CLO confirmed this coming week will be gutter/plumbing and roof cover by end of the week. Happy with how quickly things have progressed in the past week. Fingers cross the weather will be good for roof cover.
