I can see a great pool going in there at some point too Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: building in casuarina nsw 44Jan 25, 2015 12:03 pm i know it was a lot easier than i thought. Im thinking its a good setup for when the kids r in their teenage years which is not too far away. Gives them and us a bit of space. Yeah its a really nice outlook. I wanted to have living areas at the front to make use of that view but that is west and obviously that wouldnt be a good idea. Re: building in casuarina nsw 45Feb 16, 2015 1:34 pm Ok so my final costings are through and we have decided to upgrade ceiling to 2740mm and upgrade sliding stackers to 2440mm. Its gonna look so much better. Cant wait to see it. Now that our costing is final, the final floorplan will be drawn up and contracts to sign. As we are heading up next week we dont expect to get them before then but all should be ready to be signed by the time we get up there. Colour appt all booked. Getting very exciting but also a little nervous. Re: building in casuarina nsw 46Feb 16, 2015 7:33 pm Yay!!!! Fantastic news livpal, we can build together!! We're going 2700 ceilings top and bottom. Colour appointment should be great fun, enjoy Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: building in casuarina nsw 49Feb 26, 2015 12:23 pm http://i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah2 ... miqgxv.jpg This is the marble hexagons going in the bathroom niches. Re: building in casuarina nsw 56Mar 01, 2015 10:53 am Wow livpal just catching up with your colour selections, very nice Those hexagon tiles remind me of the block. Will look gorgeous, when do you hope to have your plans into council? How was your visit to Casuarina? Did you sign your contract? Sorry so many questions!! Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: building in casuarina nsw 57Mar 01, 2015 1:07 pm Yeah very happy with the colour selections. A little over budget but no too bad. Waiting for how much the laying will cost us as we chose rectified tiles. We have contracts have briefly read over them and meeting with consultant tomorrow but we may not sign them we may take them home and sign them. Not surw yet. So plans will go to council once we pay the next fee which will be in the next couple of days. Very exciting. Re: building in casuarina nsw 58Mar 01, 2015 1:35 pm Yes that budget thing is problematic isn't it? haha Take your time with the contract, standard HIA? Yay for council, they're slow though, we just had a tree issue as well. Has your block got a tree yet in the nature strip? Hopefully not and you can get it planted away from your driveway! Inching forward livpal!! Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: building in casuarina nsw 59Mar 01, 2015 1:39 pm Yeah standard HIA. Nothing i can really see thats problematic. Anything i need to look out for in the contracts? I think we have 1 tree out front but centred at the front of our block so should be fine i think. do you know can we pay next fee and put plans to council before signing contracts? Re: building in casuarina nsw 60Mar 01, 2015 1:59 pm The standard HIA is pretty good, just check time frames for starting, length of build, time lost with weather, builder's margin. The hard bit is having everything included and appropriate PCI values, there is always extras. Our plans went to council before contract signing but we went with a draftsman. Also we haven't paid anything to our builder as yet. Watch the tree, needs to be 2 metres from driveway.
