The system is worth about 12. Grand. When did you sign? We signed in December last year, the unit is just an evaporative cooling unit not reverse cycle Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 42May 23, 2013 5:08 pm blacklab We got our reverse cycle unit thrown in free too by Fairmonts... I was told at the time if i wanted to do it after handover they would credit us 12k, I priced the same model at a manix store and it came back just a bit over 17k so we stayed with them doing it... We signed around August last year. Thanks Blacklab, 12k seems like it would be a decent enough unit. And great that on comparison Fairmont were cheaper for you! Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 43May 23, 2013 5:09 pm tasha_is_clueless I am not sure if you would be able to change it now but we signed at the same time as the deal with the free aircon was running and they credited us the cost of that and switched it to reverse cycle and it cost next to nothing in comparison to what it would cost to put reverse cycle in. Tasha i have emailed my consultant and are finding out about what you have just mentioned now! Hoping we can do the same for little upgrade costs! Thankyou Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 44May 23, 2013 5:26 pm I hope they can do it for you Fairmont! Thankyou Lucinda Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 48Jun 06, 2013 10:31 pm AmyMumma23 Any news on the air-con? We are still undecided about what to do Amy! We can get a credit for the ducted evaporative unit we have in our quote which is $3,500 and put that towards an upgrade to reverse cycle, which has been quoted at $9,000 so the difference would be $5,500. But our budget is stretched at the moment, and we still don't know what our stormwater will come too I think we will decide on the day we have our builders interview haha! I started freaking out LOL. I've found our quote which includes ducted reverse cycle aircon 5.0HP 1 phase, 9 outlets, 6 zones. Would have cost $10440 but was free. We signed in August 2012 Feel free to follow our build! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59958 Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 52Jun 11, 2013 11:59 pm I have just realised something and now I am slightly annoyed at Fairmont. A couple of you said you signed in March and got your reverse cycle free. We were quoted in January but we signed in March and paid the $5,500 which I thought was good but obviously I would prefer it for free lol. Also, Tristam is building the same house as me and has gotten it much cheaper and you would think they would be the same system. I don't get the inconsistencies!?! I think I shall bring this up with them. Building the Leabrook with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, SA. We looked at our first contract and asked them to do better! So in the end they gave us Air-con, 2.7 ceilings, niche in the hallway, bulkhead to the lounge, 'good will gesture' with solid external doors and a cash discount of $17,500. It went fairly well thanks Amy, a few extra costs added in etc and some last minute changes to the colour of our roller door and roof and have chosen to now do our storm water and concrete paths/driveway ourselves after handover. Unfortunatley we are STILL waiting on full development approval from council...we are so dissapointed at how long this process has taken. Its been 7 months since we signed and paid our deposit. We are now well past the excited stage of waiting to start, just wanting to see something happen! Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 58Jun 27, 2013 8:13 pm The waiting is the worst I think we walked out of our interview a few K lighter also you will save loads doing those things after handover Site Works 9/5/13 Slab 4/6/13 Frame 4/7/13 Fascia/Gutters 10/7/13 Windows 11/7/13 Roof 24/7/13 Gyprock 13/8/13 Lock up 26/8/13 Bricks 2/9/13 Kitchen 11/9/13 Tiling 28/9/13 Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 59Jun 27, 2013 8:58 pm How frustrating with regards to council.
