How long between signing off on the pre-start variations and getting the final workings in the mail?
I sent back the signed variations last Tuesday, still waiting for the workings.. fingers crossed it doesn't take too long!

All up from first variation to final plan was approx 8 weeks I try not to think about it much I am also keeping busy as I will be selling my house of 14 years doing some touch ups here and there kind of sad it's the longest house I've ever lived in even when I was with my parents but looking forward to the new one when did you start your variations

Well I have lived here for 20 years! Most of my life, so will be a big change to move.
We have only done the pre-start variations. Not keen on paying variation fees so won't be making changes unless absolutely necessary.
How many sets of variations did you do for it to take 8 weeks?
You should start your own thread so I can follow your build

I'm new at this not sure how to make a thread I only use my phone or pad anyway we did 19 variations total $1933.00 we did most of the changes at the contract quotation stage which was $40k cos we are having a triple garage and a coffin ceiling to threater and a portico with double door entry this is our second build so we getting what we want we have allready ordered all the flooring too very excited I will follow your build too its good to have someone to chat with in same experience

I think I am getting a bit excited, I have already ordered all of our flooring from Carpet Court as well as furniture (first house so we don't have alot to start with).
I was glad our variations came in under $1,000. It makes life easier being able to do alot of things ourselves after handover. Most changes were made in our contract aswell. The ceiling in the theatre is going to look great, wish we had of thought about that!

It is a very big house too for your first one our current house is half the size
At least you can have a family and you will have space to grow if our current house was big enough I wouldn't move I'm going to miss this place

Finally was able to get in contact with our client administrator this morning, she is posting out the final working drawings today, we should have by Friday and she thinks we are about 3 weeks from construction starting

Fingers crossed everything goes to plan for this part of the process

Received our final working drawings today, only a few small things need fixing. In our ensuite, they put the drawers to be the same colour as the bench tops instead of the colour of the cupboard doors in the vanity. As well as the wrong colour switch plates and GPO's.
Going to drop everything off to them tomorrow, fingers crossed scheduling doesn't take too long!

So we received a letter from our land agent saying the block is under a fire management plan and to forward the correspondence to our builder.
I do this, and the builder comes back saying they will have to update our contracts and charge a variation as they weren't aware of this. We only just found out, we signed up for the land in November and settlement went through in February so our land agent didn't tell us about until 3 months after settlement.
Has anyone else had a fire management plan put on their block and what does it actually involve in changing how the house in built? Should I be complaining to the land agent about not telling us about it?

Fire management? Is your build sitting on the edge of your block? I know that if you're not at least 1.5m away from your nearest neighbour then you need to install a Fireblanket on that side of the wall, but have never heard of fire management plan.

I'd most definitely raise this with your land agent and find out what this is about, and the sooner you get that information the better.

We thought we might need a fire blanket on our garage wall since it is on the boundary, but when we asked the builder they said we didn't..
I just hope it doesn't hold everything up too long! The builder says they will need to send an assessor out to the block to check it is okay and we will need to pay for that. See how that goes.
I think the fire management might be something to do with the land surrounding the estate as it hasn't been developed yet so the only thing between our block and the bush is the house behind us and a road.

Felicity01 could be to do with fire hydrant location I have one at the front of my house there is one of those blue plugs on the road out the front we also have a water mains thing in the middle of our lawn area on council land

How exciting! We were told 2 weeks ago that it was 3 weeks away but now with the fire management plan it has been delayed, for who knows how long! Look forward to seeing some photos once yours goes down though

Unfortunately nothing

I called the bush fire safety committee who made the plan and they said it was actually being re-assessed last week and to contact the developer for more information.
I emailed the project manager and have not heard back from him yet. All I want to know if has it been re-assessed yet, can we proceed with the build or do we have to get the block assessed for anything we need to change.
So frustrating!
Wish I had just not said anything about the fire management plan because we went down to look and there were two slabs down already near ours that would have the fire management plan as well but had the slab down before we were told about it. Maybe it wasn't that important since council approved their builds?
