Do you think the orange bricks are wrong - looks good but it has to be the same all over. Re: laura2009 - my build 42Mar 07, 2011 3:18 pm Your bricks look lovely. Shame about the odd one that looks to be the wrong colour. Is there anything you can do about it, or is it just a variation in the brick colour? contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: laura2009 - my build 43Mar 17, 2011 6:49 am I spoke with the brickie on site (got busted in the house with the kids in tow). He said they get someone from PGH to come around and do something with the orange bricks. It's not uncommon and it's not difficult to fix (according to him). Bricks are completed and insulation was installed yesterday with plasterboard being up in the wet areas too. Sparky had done his thing and my sparky (hubby) ran some draw wires & put in noggins for hanging tv. Re: laura2009 - my build 46Apr 11, 2011 1:12 pm How frustrating! I'd been wondering what had happened to your build as it's been a while since your last update. It does seem like you've had to be more patient than usual with first the demolition and now construction. Maybe it's worth bringing it up with your builder, if you haven't done so already. Sounds like someone needs a kick up the backside to hurry it up! Re: laura2009 - my build - locked up 49Apr 19, 2011 10:00 am Progress at last??? Re: laura2009 - my build - locked up 50Apr 26, 2011 9:52 pm Some good news, cabinets have been delivered and are waiting to be installed. Plasterer is still finishing up, not all nails holes are covered yet I noticed. I am dying to see those things installed. Pics when it's done. Re: laura2009 - my build - locked up 51Apr 26, 2011 10:05 pm Excellent news! This is the exciting part where you get to see all your colour selections come together! I can't wait to get to that stage myself. Re: laura2009 - my build - locked up 52May 04, 2011 8:11 am Some more activity at the house, always done in small spurts (sigh). Hopefully they will finish installing all the cabinets this week. Re: laura2009 - my build - cabinet pics 04/05 55May 10, 2011 8:08 am Yay - I found one of the sliding doors at the house wasn't shut properly so, in I went for a look! Happy to see waterproofing had been done and the bath was cemented in. I also saw why the kitchen hadn't been finished too - the water and electricity was not in the right place to go up into the kitchen island so they have had to chip away at the slab and get the plumbing in the right place. I didn't realise how big our ensuite vanities were either so that was a great suprise. 6-ish weeks until the anticipated PCI date. Re: laura2009 - my build - cabinet pics 04/05 56May 10, 2011 8:52 am Ooohhh exciting Sounds like a nice surprise with the ensuite vanities! Re: laura2009 - my build - cabinet pics 04/05 57May 15, 2011 9:33 am It was great to see the ensuite vanities. Nothing happened at the house this week We called the SS to ask about the completion date, now that the cabinets are nearly all in. He has no voice message and doesn't answer so I had to email client liaison. No reply as yet. 5 weeks until the anticipated PCI date. Re: laura2009 - my build - cabinet pics 04/05 58May 20, 2011 8:36 am 20th of next month should be PCI! Stopped by the house to see the cables had been pulled for all the electrical work. Kitchen still not fully installed. There has been a delivery of wood & stuff sitting out the front of the property since the brickie finished (not sure what it is). It's still sitting there anyway. The plasterer has been at the house again but I'm not sure what he has done and he's never there for more than a couple of hours. Tried calling the site supervisor and couldn't get through (doesn't have voicemail) so had to email client liaison who then said the construction manager would contact the SS and get back to me. We have to make rental arrangements etc and just want to know that it's not going to run over. Can they do it all in 4 weeks? Re: laura2009 - my build - cabinet pics 04/05 59May 20, 2011 8:48 am Laura, we've just had our cabinets put in too but our SS says that this is when it all slows down - our completion date is 22 August - don't know if that will change and it's too soon to ask, so we are planning on end of August to move out of the rental but won't let the landlord know till we are a bit closer to PCI - don't want to be homeless!! I've done all my budgeting with that in mind as well. Hope you hear back from your SS soon it's horrible not knowing what's going on esp when the work stops For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: laura2009 - my build - cabinet pics 04/05 60May 21, 2011 5:04 pm We have our real front door on the house and the interior doors and door frames are sitting inside the house ready for installation now. Picked up a few things for the house recently - 3 used leather barstoolsin pretty good nic, off ebay for $75 and today Spotlight had 50% off double roman blinds. We have done 4 bedrooms, the ensuite and two windows in the living area with double romans for $780! Stoked. (The 180 x 210 were $112 each - bargain) I am also waiting on Spotlight to get in a rug I ordered when the had 50% off rugs. Mclaren - a firm date would make planning so much easier.
