Re: Building 'The Benchmark' meeting with sales rep!!! 45Feb 11, 2010 10:39 am So we met with our sales guy last night, who I have to really say is lovely and cant do enough to help us out! He gave me some pricing on some extras we were after and some tips on what we should wait till after to get done. Last night we also talked about the frontage as me and hubby werent a fan of the way it was and he changed the portico a little for us. We are still waiting on the price back for making the portico an arch shape underneath as we have found we like this more. We got prices back and will add the following - Bank of 3 drawers in kitchen (maybe x 2) Maybe the kitchen package as it will be cheaper in the long run! but that means no standalone Chrome wastes in the bathrooms and laundry Additional power points Extra aircon outlet Doors on robes in main bedroom Conduit on internal walls Plumbing behind fridge freezer recess External power point and lights and a few other things I cant remember as hubby has it in his car So we were talking about how its a pain that we dont have titles till ages away and he was mentioning that it doesnt really matter as by the time shire approve it and we go to prestart which he said is booked out till end of march anyway everything will be done before our titles are released so when we get them slab will be down pretty much the next few weeks after so he thinks we will still be in by next Jan - Feb So heres hoping it all goes that way! He also told me the plans were with the drafting guy or something to that effect and that the soil test should be back any day now. So prestart in a couple of months he thinks woohoo RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 46Feb 11, 2010 11:54 am Excellent news Rhi Good to hear things are moving along despite the land titles issue! How much was it for the extra air con duct? Oooo and arch shape let me know how you go with the price on this one , are you still going the custom elevation style or having the roof on top? Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 47Feb 11, 2010 12:01 pm Hey Yeah I was very excited to hear that although the land is holding us up we can still go ahead with all the building side of things which is exciting, it doesnt feel like we are sitting back doing nothing now! Air con duct was free he just included it in the list he signed off on which was nice but the arch he has to get back to us on same as the two doors in the hallway. Basically we will be keeping the benchmark but he extended out the portico so it wasnt a single entry size its now a double to match the doors and he is getting us a price on the arch so hopefully it doesnt come back too much and also I noticed our portico is slightly raised than normal which looks better aswell! I will let you know what prices they give me I didnt realise that they would widen it and all that for us. Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 48Feb 11, 2010 3:18 pm I think it's to late for us anyway cos we signed on the portico change already I dunno if I'm going to like it now , I'm having a bad day though so maybe it's just that. Oh am bummed now...maybe I should just stop thinking about all this house stuff...as I said I'm having a bad day Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 49Feb 11, 2010 3:23 pm Our guy said that even if you sign on a change you can cancel at prestart. He basically described prestart to be the final decision time and that even if we signed for something before we have up to that time to change it back no worries. I have the arch price back $650. Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 50Feb 11, 2010 4:05 pm Is that $650 to bring out hte entire portico and add the arch or just the arch part? And thanks for that info Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 51Feb 11, 2010 9:08 pm No worries I am pretty sure the portico will stay as is but instead of being square underneath they will make it an arch. I looked at all the displays and wondered why they looked different and someone pointed out that they all had arches and it gave it another dimension so I am hoping if we pay the 650 we can keep everything else the same I forgot to say that he also looked to see if one was being built near us but he said he couldnt find one that wasnt heavily modified. Rhi3384 - Woohoo I got my call from the CLO!!! 52Feb 17, 2010 11:07 pm So update - I had my call from my CLO (same one as ours Purple butterfly) and she was more than helpful! I asked her a few questions on where we are at with the soil tests as our block is a pile of sand atm with no roads near it. She said until it has roads and looks like a block they wont do the test which I can totally understand. So yeah I guess we wait a month and see how the block looks like then, fingers crossed we can get that happening as it should all fall into place then! I just realised it is my hubbys 30th next year (nov) so we should hopefully be able to celebrate it there RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate!
