Just wondering what the deal is with contracts and then selections. Do you sign something else to do with your selections when you make them? (Sorry, off topic) I'm going to email my broker about my FHOG. I know I applied but the broker is not good at getting back to me. My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Nothing much has happened at all except the muck up with the 2% extra in fees. I guess it's just a waiting game. I want pre start to happen, at least we can choose stuff. I suppose you have to sign off on all the selections on the day?? Our broker emailed me during the week to say we "should" have financed approved by the end of week...didn't get another email, but did get the FHOG letter so probably next week lynnebin: okay, waiting is NOT fun - I agree. Re: Building with Homebuyers Centre - Perth - No money no cry 53Apr 26, 2009 11:55 pm Hi guys, Just thought I would reply as we are building with HBC too, in Banksia Grove WA! They have been great only a few bumps. The actual paperwork processes took We started in August 08 so it took almost 5 months!!! and apparently that was fast. We went to Prestart before our Loan was unconditionally approved, so basically we got the first approval and they got the ball rolling and we went to prestart. Once the loan was approved unconditionally that is when everything started falling into place We did have one hiccup with the prestart girl, she was quiet impatient when we were there and a bit rude to say the least ... and also we had an issue with our sinks (we wanted the above counter sink with the tap coming off the wall) they refused the tap and would only allow a tap off the counter top, and then they took 6 weeks to get a estimate from the estimator on the tap & sink set that we chose which is what held up the process!!!! Lets not mention the HUGE price increase in the sinks, $1000 each for the Tapware & Sink!!!! If we went to Caroma & Dorf ourselves it would of been half that price. Anyway sorry im going off subject here ... So my advice to you would be to be very prepared and leave nothing to them to 'get back to you with' as they take forever and don't allow you to email or call and badger them. It is amazing how fast things move once your slab is down, as soon as our loan was finalised they went to site within 3 weeks our slab was down today 26th April I went down and they are starting the Roof (Wooden Beams) Our client liason girl is really good and although very abrupt (but nice) she keeps us informed but we don't really need her as we go once a week so we find out what is next before she calls. Oh and another thing is don't be scared when you see the building site when the brickies are laying the bricks, they make a huge mess (we have about 3 cartons of empty beer cans worth scattered around in amongst our house) but the next day we went to check it again and they cleaned up (it was a obviously a friday arvo drink sesh)... but what really made me angry that someone or something peed on our side wall outside whilst the bricks were going up!!! I have so much info its hard to write it all in one message, but another thing HBC don't include is soakwells and remember they don't let you on site to do any work until handover (we asked if we could dig the soakwells once the roof is on and they said no way!) We are hoping to move in by August (July if we are extreeeeeeeeemly lucky haha) but not sure how long it takes from here on in? umm not sure of anything else but feel free to email me if you want to ask anything Sorry rambling on a bit, good luck with Prestart and the building process it is such great fun and so exciting! Thanks for posting. I am sure we will look forward to your knowledge as we go along We have preapproval for finance and should have full approval this week Thanks for the heads up on Prestart... We are making a list of things to upgrade/change, but if they are going to charge ridiculous amounts of money, we might wait till later. e.g. extend ensuite vanity and shower to double size, downlights in kitchen, extra power-points, gas point for heater and BBQ etc etc. I will post my list once it is complete for feedback How is your roof coming along?? You know we want to see pictures!!!! I am going to read your other post on the other thread now...I remember seeing something about no TV conduit point WTF - we might be FHO but we still want to watch TV BUILT with Homebuyer's Centre - Aussie Alfresco Games viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16668 Moved In - Dec 14th Painting all but done - Jan 11 Front Landscaping - Feb 8 Moved In PICS Page 43 Re: Building with Homebuyers Centre - Perth - No money no cry 56Apr 28, 2009 7:37 pm So you actually receive a letter stating you are getting the $21000?
