Browse Forums Building A New House Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 381Dec 03, 2013 8:55 am That security car was a joke. I live in Currans Hill and I often drive past manooka to see the new houses going up. I just laugh at the car parked there with a chair next to it with a hi vis jacket draped over it. haha, how dumb do they think people are? they aren't fooling anyone. Pretty lame excuse for security. anyways that's bad that it got burnt out! It would be kids id say. I don't think you guys will have to worry about things like this once the estate is full. I live right near there and we never have any trouble. Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 382Dec 03, 2013 11:31 am Not nice about he car. Shows that the car was never really used by security only really a prop. Oakbank is a busy place these days:) We have had a front door frame installed today and the back yard cleaned up a bit. It was very exciting watching our house go up last week and I also got to meet my neighbors across from us. I really hope the next few months go by fast..i cant wait to move in Building a Wisdom Impression 33 5 bed + study, outdoor leisure + lanai, Jasper colorbond roof Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 383Dec 03, 2013 1:56 pm Yea I saw the car today too, pretty much blocking the road. It was pathetic security as there was never anyone in the car and normally windows were open. I imagine a bit of petrol through the window and there is the remains of the car. Oakbank is the busy street at the moment. My bricks will be finished this week then the same brickies are doing The Lynch's. Starting to look like a residential street now Can't wait to get in, all the security issues will disappear once people move in. Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 384Dec 03, 2013 6:01 pm Hi all, Agree it's a shame about the car but thankful nobodys house or building materials were targeted. Just drove through MV and actually saw a security guard there now. Hopefully he's there to stick around throughout construction. Lots happening which is exciting Ken Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 385Dec 03, 2013 7:04 pm Agreed Ken...better a car than a house or building materials. Memories of last time we had a house built it was robbed 3 times during construction...it may not have been our problem but it cost us money in the long run as it put is back over a month. It's not a nice feeling. So we are relying on you guys in Oakbank to move in asap Villina Grande Handover 10/9 Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 386Dec 05, 2013 12:48 pm So we took a drive around today and between 330pm yesterday and 10am this morning we have been excavated.... So happy !! With the heavy rain overnight didn't think they would do it at all yet.... And the burnt out security car has been removed in the same time frame....although the damage to the new road remains... Also know one of the Murphy homes got broken into and another had a broken window.... Probably the same turds that burnt the car out... Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 394Dec 15, 2013 7:34 pm Hi Susan & Jarryd welcome to our little manooka chat. Candice my husband saw your slab being finished off yesterday afternoon I'm sure you are happy to have it down before Christmas. For some reason I haven't been getting any notification of new posts on here ?.. So did everyone get the council notification reg the 64 place child care centre proposal to be built on lot 105 the very large first lot as you enter manooka valley ? I spoke to the owner of the rawson home I think it's on 118 ?..and he hasn't even received a notification of it. We got our letter last Thursday. Well our house now has it's bricking done about half way up. The scaffolding went up at the end of last week. However we have been told not much more will be done as the bricking team are moving onto ash & sues place. It also sucks that the Christmas brake is upon us. So things will stop until early January sometime. How have everyone's plans been going ? We noticed our kitchen window was incorrect so that now has to be changed. Our ss said it will be done ASAP .we also had some windows smashed Hugh and I go out to our house almost everyday for me it's school drop off and school pick up times. I got a little overwhelmed last weekend so didn't visit as much this week. I have met all the existing neighbours who live on turner rd and they both seem lovely. I'm also happy to see our yard all cleaned up the mess was starting to bug me ....but all looks better now I know it's a construction site but in my eyes it's my future home. Building a Wisdom Impression 33 5 bed + study, outdoor leisure + lanai, Jasper colorbond roof Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 395Dec 16, 2013 10:44 am Ours has virtually stopped for the break now too. Think work starts up again mid January (not sure why the break is so long?). I've just been open to the fact that it will look like a mess until it's nearing completion. There are scheduled cleans throughout the build but it's essentially always going to look like a building site because, well, it is one!! As long as internally nothing is amiss all is good. Oakbank is certainly coming along now Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 396Dec 16, 2013 7:19 pm Hey Chapo I know i cant believe we got our slab down on Saturday... it was a jam packed week, drove by most times twice a day to see what had happened.....but didn't even do a drive by Saturday because i really thought it would be done this week...lucky i sent my husband for a quick drive by on his way to work just in case and he took some photos and told me the good news....it was all i wanted for Christmas and well ahead of schedule too... slightly annoyed that we were on a roll and now we have to stop for the break... and we also received the notification of the child care centre last week and we are on the other side of the estate....we dont have a problem with it (obviously as we are away from it).... may come in handy for us one day... the estate is looking good.... oakbank houses are looking good with all the frames up and i saw one getting the roof tiles done too... lets hope the estate stays the way it is and no more vandalism... Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 397Dec 16, 2013 7:35 pm A very good Chrissy gift for you Candice Paul you still had roof tiles being put on today. So they haven't stopped yet. We were told they may do some more on our house on Friday but that will be it until jan. Mixed feelings will be great for the MV kids to be so close to home but I hope it's not too hectic in Turner Rd and Ascot Dr. Our plans are still not in with the CDC...I am usually a very impatient person but we have been kept busy with the kitchen, laundry and Butler's pantry etc and getting our ideas together for tiling and hard floors and carpet appointment on Thursday. That's all fun Candice - exciting news about your slab Have a wonderful Xmas everybody Stay Safe and enjoy Villina Grande Handover 10/9 Re: BUILDING IN MANOOKA VALLEY CURRANS HILL 399Dec 16, 2013 8:19 pm Hi everyone. We have been excitedly reading this forum over the past few months. My name is Richard, my wife is Lisa and our 1 year old son is Max. We have been living in Currans Hill for 6 years and are quickly out growing our home. We love the area and are the proud owners of Lot 221. We just signed with Masterton Homes over the weekend and are excited to see the progress of not only our home but everyone's in MV. Looking forward to chatting and hopefully meeting all the neighbours. Merry Christmas, Richard, Lisa & Max thanks guys! yes this is how I've exactly raised it with the builder. still awaiting response. 12 6477 Howdy all.
