Savannah in the PGH range
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes general build thread 3722Mar 14, 2016 8:30 pm Oldies Congratulations Chris81. Love the pictures, especially the front door entry one. Don't turf etc. finishing touches make a huge difference? How big is your outdoor Area now you've extended it ? Looking good! What a massive difference it makes! We're very happy with the finished look. The front outdoor is 22 square metres and back deck is 50 square metres. We extended the slab out the back as we had intended to tile however when doing the maths it worked out cheaper and in our opinion better looking to use the composite decking. In hindsight I could have gotten away with the slab at the rear and used bearers on stirrups. Would have saved around 7k.... you live and learn Re: Coral Homes general build thread 3723Mar 15, 2016 7:04 am [quote="chriss841"] What a massive difference it makes! I hadn't realized what a lovely colour variation Savannah had in it. Either that or your brickies did a spectacular job. With hindsight, I think that brick would have suited us better than the one we've chosen.(Thatch Blend) Then again the PGH brochure photo, the PGH/Boral display wall and the brick samples we took home differ so much that I've NO idea what our house will actually look like! Now Energy Efficiency rules have caused us to double the size of our Outdoor Area, I thought it was big (24 square m.) Not after seeing yours! Re: Coral Homes general build thread 3735Mar 17, 2016 4:01 pm Random question for anyone using their media room as exactly that, a media room! Has anyone painted their ceiling dark as well as walls? We are decking ours out with the works (costing a small fortune!) and we are in two minds as to whether to go the full look with a dark ceiling too or just keep it white and see how it goes! Our SS said it was fine for us to meet the painter and change at our expense but we now really think we should go dark for all over...I just can't decide! Coral Homes general build thread 3738Mar 17, 2016 4:48 pm Maybe go white roof first and paint yourselves if not sure, easier to put a darker colour on that matches the walls then take the roof back to white Re: Coral Homes general build thread 3739Mar 17, 2016 4:51 pm If your going dark dark the gyprock needs to be spot on or the joints will show through. The two worst trades as far as quality goes with our build have been gyprock & painter, both very ordinary. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 15069 Hi so sorry for the late reply.
