We we're the total opposite, we went in with a budget in mind and our consultant was very forthcoming in pricing for upgrades. If she was unable to give us a price at that time she would apologise and say she'll get that information out to us ASAP(which she did) She was very helpful in our selections made and made sure we kept within our budget by offering cheaper but nice alternatives. A lot of things we added to contract but bit by bit we deleted the things that weren't necessary. Surprisingly we stuck to our budget so we we're satisfied with the end results I wish you all the best if you proceed Thanks Emmz. We've decided to proceed with M, as our experiences with them so far have been good. The upgrades pricing is a process issue, and i hope they see the inconvenience it causes when planning. I have informed both the SC as well as CSC about the same, and can only hope there is something done to improve/facilitate this. I had an idea of what not to opt for prior to going in for selections, but then there are those temptations which lure you, and you just want to have them. I'd say this is what happened here, so we are wiser although poorer now. Anyway, we signed the contract over the weekend, and the items removed will come through as a PC variation credit along with the updated plans. Now starts the process with the bank, as well as approvals etc. Re: Building with Metricon 3703Oct 10, 2016 12:12 am nomnomnom, yes. The first screenshot was from a section of my private inspector's report . My SM has already agreed to reconstruct the pier. And 4 weeks later , the second photo was what I discovered. It only took M 3 month to build our 26sq house. Now we are looking at 2 month to fix if we are extremely lucky . I have emailed both SM and BM . I said I DONT WANT SKIRTING BOARD. They better deliver this time Re: Building with Metricon 3707Oct 11, 2016 11:58 am Hi all I have a generic question regarding outdoor areas of the house. Are the concrete landings of the Alfresco & Portico not part of the base costs? As per the "more love" promo, we get 16sqm concrete slab & ceramic tiling to rear outdoor area. Just wanted to check whether the extra cost of $1,900 sounds about right for 8sqm of Portico and its tiling (described as "additional concrete landing & tiling") in the tender. Ta We went with the Freedom range, and concreting to outdoor area as well as porch were not part of the standard inclusions. We added concreting and tiling to the outdoor area, but decided to get the porch concreted in exposes aggregate along with the driveway. Re: Building with Metricon 3711Oct 12, 2016 9:21 pm Spotme Cool Thanks guys. Still learning about inclusions Thought that Alfresco & Portico were considered as part of inclusion if they are on the standard design of the house Cheers I wonder if the portico is included for some facades? Thanks Some of the items you've mentioned will depend on what you upgrade to and what your standard choices for your packages are. For example, if your build is a designer range you will have more choice in some areas and the cost difference might be less cause you've already paid for it in your package M uses categories to cost items so for tiles you may get Cat 1 tiles standard and pay more as you go to Cat 2, 3 or even 5 or 6.. I've had a look at them 2 weeks back and not really impressed. Upgrading tiles is not something we can consider atm. Anyone gone with the standard or for an upgrade of $5k tops and happy with it? Any chance of seeing your selections please? Thanks!!! Re: Building with Metricon 3716Oct 17, 2016 12:50 pm Spotme Hi guys Thoughts on the standard tile selection from Studio M Sydney please?
